In today’s age of digital SLR cameras, the image quality is amazing, but one thing we hear on a regular basis is still the issue of the noise or grain in images, especially images shot at low light. Now one of the greatest issues with photographers is the misunderstanding of noise and how it affects their images - hopefully this blog will help. http://bit.ly/1B8QWwT

Having just returned home from a magnificent 9 days of photo safari with ODP Safaris and Elephant Plains in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, i have been going through some images and this one definitely popped out at me. It was such a privilege to spend time with this 10 month old cub and his mother one afternoon as they finished a bush buck kill from earlier that morning.

A young male leopard, independent yet still too young to hold a territory goes on the hunt. Every night he walks a fine line as he needs to keep a low profile to avoid the dominant males in the area.

I just loved the mood of this scene. As the dry season reaches its peak along the chobe river, thousands upon thousands of elephants gather along the banks of the river for water and to feed of the soft green nutrient rich vegetation. This dry dusty time of year also produces beautifully rich oranges and reds in the sunset skies.
