Why are you worried about the intentional backdoors?  All the unintentional security vulnerabilities should have scared you off that platform years ago if you were remotely concerned with your security and/or privacy.

I doubt their "specialists" have all taken a course in AI.  It's not that computers can't grow beyond their original programing (and the idea is not preposterous, just that it doesn't happen in ways you'd expect), but rather that when it comes to consciousness and emotions we really don't understand why WE have them.  So it's hard to bisect a machine and tell at what point it does or doesn't.  I do agree, I doubt a machine would want to be more Human when it could be something even more unique or better than a destructive greedy sack of meat.

Yeah, but we greedy sacks of meat are mortal.  So the world has the consolation of knowing that  even the worst of us will bite the big one eventually.  If AI turns out to be a homicidal jerk, there's no waiting out its demise.

Either it was poorly edited or the host was an Atari ST fanboy.  And so the battle between the Atari/Amiga fanboy camps began!

Seems like an equipment overkill.  I'm not hearing a depth of complexity that insists they couldn't do same or better with 4 turntables, a 303, and maybe something to rip up the sound like stutteredit or a kaoss quad.  :P  Still, that's quite a table of gear!  Kudos!

I'm not sure why the Apple II port was so slow, Stellar 7 was a similar game and performed much better on that and C64, IMHO.  The Vic20 and C64 didn't really use vectors, they just used screen characters which is why the scaling and rotation seemed so clunky (it was all pre-generated sprites/character graphics).  Stellar7 on the other hand was a true vector game on those machines.  That being said the 2600 version seemed to have a better arcade feel and had the fastest game play.  The windows port is, well, an emulation more than a port so you'd expect it to be on-par with the original.  All that aside the Lynx port looks like fun.  I'd say the 5200 looks like the worst of the bunch and like other 5200 games is a total abomination.

you know a similar C64 demo would still be loading by the time this was done.  Great work!

Also make sure you read up on the characteristics of the mic you are using.  Particularly where does the mic pick up the best overall sound?  How far can you get before the bass response falls off?  Those kind of things make a big difference between a good clear recording and one that is so bad that you have to spend 2 hours cleaning up.

Thanks for all the intros, French Touch!  Now to make Jace properly handle this!  :-)   (the double lo-res is now working but still getting the Ansi story intro effect to work...)

Everything was much too greasy for our taste. The ribs and brisket were fall-apart tender but we've had much better bbq in this town. The peach cobbler was good at least.
