Received some great news today.  My co-authors and I were notified that our article “Crowdsourcing: A new way of employing non-employees” has been accepted into Business Horizons, a journal that thinks about business practice in new and innovative ways, with an emphasis on identifying important business issues and recommending solutions.

The post below by +Michael Hyatt talks about the ways peer groups impact your decision as an entrepreneur. These were the 3 biggest takeaways that we wanted to share with the folks in this community:

1. Learning - Getting connected with a good group can accelerate your learning, provide key insights, help you find important resources, and teach you best practices.

2. Encouragement - Whether it’s business, family life, or our faith journey, life can be tough. A good peer group can give you the validation and support you need to keep going and rise above the tempests.

3. Accountability - We need people who can speak into our lives and help us when we’re veering off track. The right peers are essential for this.

There is no failure except if you Quit

Being Self-Employed though rewarding can often be challenging, especially when starting out.

Just imagine for a moment if any of these amazing entrepreneurs quit and didn't continue when they fell over and over in the beginning?

This great graphic could go on forever with all the greats that faced failure over and over in the beginning. The difference is they didn't quit.

How do you handle those dark moments in your business when you question what you should do next?

Me, I think of why I started and where the destination is I'm going. I celebrate the victories and learn from the lessons in setbacks.

Don't quit, don't look back, keep moving forward!
Wishing Entrepreneurial Successes ~ Mike

Had the amazing opportunity to attend a talk at Disney on crowdsourcing. We got to hear from Jeremiah Owyang, founder of Crowd Companies, Shannon Swallow, VP at Indiegogo, and Emily Castor, Director of Community Relations at Lyft.
