2016 is in the bag. How was it? As has been tradition here each year, I'll be publishing my personal summary of the year gone by. Where did I succeed? Where

Afraid to try your luck at backpacking? We all started somewhere.
Right now, I’m sitting on my bed in a hostel dorm in Berlin. My crap is all over the floor. The girl sleeping in the bed beside me also has her crap all over the floor. And then there’s a couple of tidy guys, with all their stuff locked and zipped up. Nobody has made...

Last month I hitch-hiked around 1,300km, from Krakow to Tallinn. Here's a journal of the whole journey.
Recently I completed my first extended hitch-hike – around 1,300km and four countries – from the south of Poland to the northern tip of Estonia. When I tell people about this, they often seem confused about the whole idea. Who picks you up? Is it easy? Hard? What if no one stops? But hitching is...

I spent one week chasing the Northern Lights through Norway, and found much more. Here's the story.
I decided to head north, as north as humanly possible. Because what better place to find the Northern Lights than at the very north of the world?

"And soon I learned, every country breeds amazing women. Some are demure and sweet, others wild and adventurous, but all were unique and beautiful in their own way. To date a foreign girl was the ultimate culture shock; sometimes good, sometimes horrific, but always worth it."
Perhaps, this is the double-edged sword of worldly curiosity. Lives of colourful adventures and crippled romances. But is it worth it?

Story
Tagline
I travel. I write.
Introduction

In 2011, I quit my job as a Chartered Accountant to see the world. Since then I've visited every continent, with a focus on furthering my education through travel. I believe in using the world as a classroom, having studied French in France, Spanish in South America, Chinese in China, mixed martial arts in the Philippines, salsa dancing in Ecuador, dragon boating in Shanghai, Swahili in Tanzania and my to-do list continues to grow.

I write about my travels on my blog, Bren On The Road. Through my writing I hope to do two things. Firstly, to demonstrate that travel is affordable and accessible, and not the expensive luxury many perceive it to be. Secondly, to inspire others to use travel as a vehicle to learn new skills that excite them and create better versions of themselves.

In 2015 I published my first ebook, Triple Your Travel. The book was a culmination of my first two years of blogging, and is a resource that breaks budget travel down into its component parts. It is an ideal starting point for travellers who are new to the road and looking to get long term travel out of a limited budget.
Bragging rights
Haven't died yet, still haven't needed to get a knee or hip replaced, can still carry my backpack up a flight of stairs, never missed a flight in my life.
