The Central Coast is a magnificent location to be married, and it’s hard to go past Terrigal beach for your dream coastal wedding. Reef Restaurant, with 180˚ ocean views across the Haven is a classic choice for your reception. As one of the region’s most popular fine dining restaurants, the food is always perfect, with wedding packages including the same quality you will find on the a la carte menu. The restaurant space is the ultimate, stylish blank canvas, awash with white, timber floors and large bi-fold windows framing the stunning view.

It’s ten years since Karina and Brian Barry took over the management, and refurbishment, of Bells at Killcare. The Barrys also established a unique relationship with hospitality business partners, Stefano Manfredi and Julie Manfredi Hughes, to create a restaurant worthy of their world class tourism destination.

Couple co-creators hold a special place in the history of popular culture. Perhaps it’s the heady mix of youth, passion and unbridled creativity that is so alluring and eludes those of us still searching for our mojo? For the record, my mojo is A-OK, but I do admit to feeling a pang of jealousy when I meet creatives who are partners in both life and art. Such was the case when I interviewed newlyweds Rebecca and Shannon Dixon at their home and studio at Avoca Beach.

So what makes the 2017 model all that more special than the 2016 Lexus GS F we tested early last year I hear you ask? Aside from its awesome looks, and the fact it’s powered by a 5.0-litre 32-valve DOHC Dual VVT-i V8 punching out 351kW of power and 530Nm of torque through an 8-speed direct shift transmission; it’s the major suspension upgrade that is the biggest factor.

Summer temps have lingered this year, despite the rain … But seeing local stores slowly fill with woollens and coats is a pleasant reminder that cooler weather IS on the way!

Music festivals have definitely experienced a bit of a renaissance over the last few years. Though the Coast felt the loss of the Peats Ridge Festival after 2012, we soon had Mountain Sounds and Lost Paradise to fill the void, not to mention the recent Norah Head Lighthouse Festival. But if you’re feeling nostalgic for a ‘true’ music festival – more rock, beer and mud than glamping, yoga and kombucha – now is your time.

Who IS Rhonda? While not flesh and blood Rhonda permeates every corner of this unique venue in Terrigal. She’s the personification of co-owner Ty Van Emden and Scott Bayly’s joint vision. In their words Rhonda is “an eclectic woman of the world, cultivated by a life of travel and glamour in the 80s. She surrounds herself with good people and good vibes, great food, amazing wine and exquisite cocktails.” She also has an amazing pad!
