Watching the responses to my 3-year-old son and some of his male friends with black nail polish on their toes was an odd experience. It seems that even in 2018, many men and women are uncomfortable with allowing boys and girls to have experiences outside of the traditional gender norms. Motherhood is like taking a new class each day. This particular lesson taught me to advocate for my child and to celebrate his carefree nature, despite the thoughts and opinions of others. Shouts to the Fashion Mamas for featuring me this month! I got a chance to speak on life, Mom Life Yo, divorce, raising my two wonderful boys, balancing motherhood and my career, and staying sane while doing it all! he media does an excellent job of spreading the myth that women can’t work with other women. My life feels like the antithesis of that. There is perhaps nothing more rewarding than working with other women and watching us all grow and benefit from it. My trip in 2017 from L.A. to Florida proved that no matter where I go, I’m never without my beloved, talented female tribe, and I’m so thankful for it. Here’s what happened...

The holidays are about fun, gifts, joy, and so many warm thoughts of the season. They’re also about family, which can be difficult for kids with separated or divorced parents. My hope is that parents will do all they can to ensure the smiles on their kids’ faces are genuine and not hiding any hurt from their parents’ decision.
