Went to negotiate out the door price on a new car they had in stock. Already knew a good price through Consumer Reports. Told them up front I had the vehicle cost report in hand and I wanted their best cash price with no dealer games, no extra options, and no extended warranty, and no financing. Price offered was only few dollars off sticker with unwanted dealer installed options and unwanted extended warranty. They tried to negotiate me into the unwanted options/warranty with several dealer tricks so we walked out. They warned me other dealers used tricks and would not have the same deal they offered. Drove to another area Honda dealer and got the deal we wanted for $1000 less on the exact same model, color and equipped car. Totally unsatisfactory experience and a waste of my time.

I recently had a couple of keys made for my 2003 Honda Accord. While I was treated cordially and the people were friendly, my experience with Breakaway Honda Service Dept at the time was "incomplete" at best. Now I'm a little dissatisfied. 1. I was asked if I wanted to have my car washed while I was there. I asked how much it would cost and never got an answer. After I mentioned I had an appointment to go to right after the keys were made, I was offered a "raincheck" for the carwash...but I never received it. Who knows what it would have cost or if it was a freebie? 2. As I was getting out of my car I dropped my key and broke my keychain flashlight on their concrete floor. The attendant said something about that was no problem, he could get me another one? He forgot about it and when I reminded him, he took me to their parts department and offered to SELL me one. 3. As my key had deteriorated, I asked if he could check to see if there were any recalls on the keys for this car as mine key was disintegrating. He did check on it for me and said there were none. Ok...that's fair enough...but keep reading..... I probably wouldn't ordinarily be writing this...BUT....just this weekend. My windshield wipers quit...(bad thing with all this rain, right?) Lo and behold there's a recall on the wiper motors for this car. Now the process that one goes thru to find out if there is ANY recall shows ALL recalls. Guess what....This is the ONLY recall on this car. I'm pretty sure Breakaway had to have seen that and (one would think) would be aware of the potential for disaster if my wipers quit amid some of these awful storms we have been having lately. I'm just wondering...... Why didn't they tell me about the one recall there was (such as it is) and offer to make arrangements to get that done for me? Maybe it's just because it was the first time I had been there and I didn't actually buy my Honda from them. But you never know, if they had sorted this for me, I might have bought my next one there. ....Just sayin'.

I have purchased my last three vehicles from Breakaway and have been very satisfied each time. Sales people have been very upfront and to the point, not your usual pushy car salesmen. Each car has been serviced almost exclusively at the dealership, and while their prices are above average, the level of service has made it worthwhile. After all, I'll pay for quality above quantity every time. The service advisor I usually talk to, Tom Elgin, has always been very helpful and knowledgeable about what I need as well as what I want. To sum up, this is THE place to go for a Honda in the Upstate.

I take my Honda to the service department for maintenance. The people in the service department seem awkward and not very pleasant. It doesn't feel like a friendly place. The sales department is great of course, but almost every time I've come here for service I've had a disappointment. They take along time to do anything. a regular maintenance can take easily an hour and if you have a free car wash done that adds 45 mins. Plan on being here for a while around a lot of cold employees. I do believe they do an average job when i comes to the service however they always have things that they say need to be fixed. I believe that they among almost all other dealers, pray on people that don't know what they are doing out of the hopes of having them be tricked into paying hundreds of dollars for completely unecesary services.

My experiences with Breakaway Honda have been all excellent! I have purchased two cars from this dealership; a 2009 Honda Accord, and more recently, a 2013 Accord. In both cases, the purchasing experience and negotiation was very pleasant, and in both instances, the deal we settled upon was more than satisfactory. Their Service Dept. is perhaps the best I have ever encountered — and I have purchased over 30 cars in my lifetime. They are very professional, and if there is something that needs repair, they get it right the first time. What's more, there is never any "automotive double talk." My Service Writer, Scott Tuscan is very upfront about everything, and is very clear about relating what needs to be done. All in all, in my 4 years of dealing with Breakaway, I'd have to say that everyone there is exceptionally accommodating. I heartily recommend this dealership. Robert Anson

I am always treated fairly when I bring my car in for service. The techs are very nice and they are good at explaining. Once I called in because I thought they had misplaced something in my car. They were very patient with me and offered to replace it free. Even though I had an attitude. :) I found it in my car later and called to let them know. They didn't get upset nor say " I told you so!" I am still sorry about that guys. Normally I am nervous when I take my car somewhere for service but with Breakaway I am not nervous at all. Keep up the good work!
