A rather interesting way to wear a crown.

Jean-Etienne Liotard was an artist in great demand across Enlightenment Europe and beyond. An eccentric and distinctive portraitist, his work conjures up the magnificence and cultural curiosity of the age in vividly lifelike detail.
Dine with us and see his first retrospective for £25 http://po.st/JEL

Huge place, bright and warm atmosphere, helpful waiting staff who are very aware of theatre diners' timings. You can go as fancy your casual as you like with food and dress. Perfect semi-traditional vibe for eating in the Theatre District. Seems to be full of tourists and London alike.

The restaurant features an impressively large dining room - with setting in itself. We came here for a quick bite and tried one of the soups. While tasty, we were not hugely wowed by it.

Good value food (especially the set menu) in a fantastic looking venue. Cocktails are great but expensive if bought from the bar next to the restaurant where you wait before being seated. Waiting staff were very attentive.

Great to get a 3-course-meal for under £20. Good food, nice athmosphere. Very high ceiling and heavy interior outfit. Make sure you reserve on weekends, otherwise you'll have to wait quite some time, especially if 2 or more people. Nice bar next to restaurant (American Bar) and Café upstairs.

Thank you Benoit, our lovely, considerate and super fast waiter on Sunday, for making this a wonderful late meal! The rest of the waiting staff made us feel really pressured and not welcomed at all as they rushed us to our table and through our courses and repeatedly asked us if we were done and reminded us about our next course in a very fake polite manner. We could see them pointing at us and discussing us from our table before a member of staff would come to 'kindly' remind us about the next course or whatever was about to close... (this happened several times!!!) One of them also proceeded to tell Benoit at hearing distance of us that 'he'd never keep a job' as Benoit was saying he didn't like pressuring us as asked to do. His colleague was rude, aggressive, and incredibly arrogant. Made me feel really unconformable to see a perfect gentleman being scolded so harshly by a smug colleague in front of the clientele. If this is the policy this restaurant has it's sincerely shocking... Benoit was very efficient, knowledgeable and made this meal extremely enjoyable and feeling like a proper restaurant service. The rest of the staff made us feel like we were at Giraffe or any other soulless franchise that care more about going home/getting people off their table ASAP than doing their job. If Zedel want to retain its French brasserie appeal, hire more people like Benoit and get rid of disrespectful and smug staff.

Looking at the entrance it seems like a small cafe but when you go down to the main restuarant downstairs it's a huge dining area which has a traditional grand cafe feel. There was live piano music playing which added to the general traditional ambiance. The menu was French and offers a wide range of options. We all had the fixed price option which was very reasonable as well as tasty! They also gave a bar and theatre so something for everyone.

The food was delicious, the service is great, the place is out of a movie and the prices are comparable to the normal London restaurants. Definitely going back again
