I called while walking there, specifically telling the host the number in my party and asking for estimated wait time. When we arrived the host said it would be 25 minutes. When we said that we had spoke to someone and they told us 15 minutes, two minutes ago, he told us that he doesn't know what we are talking about and didn't know our party size with extreme sass and attitude. We asked if we could sit outside and he was somehow able to put a table together instantly. When we were seated, we got water, but no cups for while waiting for our server to greet us. When he finally arrived he brought his attitude with him. Slamming cups on the table with his nose in the air. He misinformed us on pricing and portions for a la carte eggs, ending up to charge us $24 for 6 extra eggs, when he said it would be $12. We asked for a coffee refill and the server responded "so actually its brewing right now, when it's done" as usual, with sass. When the food runner, who was polite, brought us our food we noticed one plate of eggs particually, a different color (at least 5 shades darker) than any others at the table and it was obvious it has been over cooked and sitting there for quite some time. We waited 15 minutes for our server to come to our table so he could replace the eggs, but he never did. Luckily the manager came out and was very polite and comped us for the eggs which we sent back. The server never once checked on us and we had to ask the buser to get the server for our checks. It took another 15 minutes to get him and even then he didn't bring us the checks immediately. Unfortunately gratuity was added automatically, had it not been, I would have left the busers and food runner the tips only. Great service from the manager, food runner, and buser, but unfortunately it could not redeem the terrible service from the incredibly rude server and host.

My friends and I were visiting Chicago this past weekend and decided to stop in at Brasserie by LM for dinner. This was one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. The food was horrible! My friend ordered a caesar salad with salmon added and sardines on the side. Well, the order didn't come out the way she ordered but it was okay until she saw the romaine lettuce. I don't know if you've ever heard of lettuce being burned in a caesar salad but I sure haven't. I order the steak frites (rare) and it came out well-done. I sat and waited for the waitress to actually come back so I could return the steak. When she eventually showed up, she had an attitude towards my husband and responded, "Well, I didn't cook the steak!" Long story short, don't go to this restaurant. Not only will you overpay for horrible food but you'll get poor service as well.

The food was very good nothing to say, chicken baguette was good with fries! But... Why is it so long? More than 45 minutes to be served. Better to stay in France to have the poor French service! Only 10 persons to serve in all restaurant at 2pm! They bring the bill before dessert.. What is that?

Came here for a lunch with my office team - prix-fix menu and a few extra starters later, it turned into a two hour lunch, which left me stuffed and actually tipsy - a great way to spend a sunny Friday afternoon. It is attached to a hotel, so I assume the non-repeat customers are Brasserie's base. Nevertheless, the service was attentive and quick. The food was good, while the wine selection was rather mediocre. Not sure I'd go back here on my own, but it was nice as a work lunch spot.

Great small restaurant with goid food and excellent service. Ate here more than once during a 10-day trip. I don't recommend the French onion soup, but everything else was delicious. Very reasonable prices, especially for French food :)

Got room service from here associated with the Essex hotel. The waiter was rude on the phone. I ordered the Steak frites which was about 40% inedible fat and gristle and otherwise unimpressive. The creme brulee was more like a custard. I also asked for a glass of water, ,for which they sent a glass, but no water. For $50 all told, I could have just braved the cold and gotten a healthy and edible meal. I won't be ordering from here again.

Ashley- First of all, I'd like to thank you for letting us know about your recent dining experience with us. I'm disappointed to hear that the food and service you received were not up to our high standards. Please contact lauren@lmrestaurant.com to discuss this matter further.

While enjoying a visit to Grant Park for an evening show, I had a wonderful supper consisting of meat & cheese plate (Charcuterie & Fromage), Onion Soup Gratinnee and the Cider Braised Chicken. Absolutely delicious!!!
