Well this has been a terrible day. Was running Odyssey watchface for most of these few hours. My watch does great with Motorola watchfaces but anything else kills the battery.

+Brant Isom - my numbers are different but the comparison's similar to my experience. I don't let mine run all the way down, but my battery is at 20% or so when I end a 14-15 hour day with a third-party watch face, sometimes still over 50% with a stock Moto face. There's a price to pay when adding a weather, battery or other extra functions. Long as I can get a full workday, I'm not unhappy, but there's definitely a difference for me.

Early adopter problems. 50% off though is tempting
It's pretty unusual to see a fire sale for a brand new tablet, but that's exactly what HTC's doing with the Nexus 9 today. Yes, just one day after it launched. Starting right now, the company is...

Do any of you think that Google will ever allow users to pull down the most recent notification/card so that you can get a full view of the watch face? So many watch faces are obscured in some form or another by the most recent card.

Even when the API is released and developers can use the shorter cards, a lot of watch faces will remain obscured.

Right now I think the only way to get a full view of the watch face is to dismiss all notification and Google Now cards and that is not always practical.

If you just want it for yourself, it could be done on a rooted watch, but you then wouldn't be able to distribute the app to very many people. 99.9% sure Google will have a supported solution when the official SDK is released.

Has anybody been experiencing extremely slow download speeds from the Play Store or through Chrome? Its taking 10-15 minutes to download any app or update from the store whether on Wifi or LTE. I see some people in this forum are reporting the same thing. Trying to figure out if its a bug with Lollipop or something specific to the phone.

My speeds have been incredibly slow! Glad to know im not the only one. My speeds were slow all last week on KitKat as well. Just updated to Lollipop today and haven't checked if they have improved.

Anybody know if the Factory image that Google posted today for the Nexus 7 is different from the updated preview that was released earlier last month?

Sooooo apparently Motorola must have got their stock of white fronts back in because I was originally estimated a ship date of 10/23/14 but I got this email tonight saying that my order shipped and will be here on 10/7/14. Pretty stoked! Thanks +Motorola Mobility

LG G Watch  -

Maybe one of you guys knows the answer to this. If the LG G Watch does NOT have an ambient light sensor as has been reported, how does it know when you have your palm over the screen which causes it to go to "sleep?"

Where to start. I never visited the old Hawk n' Dove that is frequently mentioned in the reviews here but I feel that I didn't miss much except some greasy spoon style food and sticky floors. Since I have nothing to compare it to, I will say the decoration and ambiance is actually very nice. It kind of reminds me of a hunting lodge. Lots of dark wood and a very hunting lodge feel. Ron Swanson would feel right at home upstairs. Unfortunately once you get past the surface that is where things really start to fall apart. Mentioned quite frequently in the reviews below are terrible service and sub-par food and regrettably I have to agree with those reviews. We made reservations via Open Table and the front door staff was actually very friendly and helpful once we arrived. We needed to add one more to our table and they were happy to do so and find another table for us. Originally we were going to be downstairs but they moved us upstairs to the bar area. Maybe things would have been different if we had been downstairs where we had a dedicated server but it kind of seemed like we had service by committee upstairs. We sat down and it took about 10 minutes to get greeted by the bartender who was one of several people that "served" us throughout the meal. He brought us water and was nice enough. He took our drink order and promptly returned. After a few more minutes a different bartender/server approached us and took our order. From this point on we didn't have another person stop by the table until our food was up about 30 minutes later. 30 minutes seemed a little long considering all of us ordered relatively simple breakfast/brunch meals. The place was steady but not busy. They were not even on a wait, which is pretty unusual on a Sunday in DC, so I am not sure why it was so long but reading the reviews prior to going, I kind of knew what to expect. During this absence of service my friend had to get up twice to walk over to the bar to get water refilled and get a straw. Again if they had been slammed it could have been a little more understandable but the bartender/servers were just leaning against the railing behind the bar chatting it up. Another server had time to spend about 10 minutes sitting with a group of ladies at another table upstairs. Completely unprofessional to sit with a group of customers while ignoring us. And then there was the food. I will only review what I had because I don't want to try and review what everybody else thought about their meal. I had a meal that included homemade hash, poached eggs and skillet potatoes. I don't remember the name of it but I would avoid it at all costs if you happen to be there on a Sunday or any other day they serve it. The hash was dry and chewy to the point of being uneatable, the poached eggs were nothing more then wet looking hard boiled eggs. The yolk was completely cooked and the potatoes were so hard that I think they just diced them up and put them in the bowl. The biscuits and gravy portion were just ok and sadly the best part of the meal. To add insult to injury, they naturally added 20% gratuity to the meal. I am not sure if when they see 6 people at a table they just don't care about the service because they know they are getting the obligatory 20% so they think they can just ignore a customer, but that is certainly what it felt like. We spoke to a manager and they removed the gratuity and apologized and claimed the kitchen was backed up which again is something I expected because I read the reviews. Maybe your experience will be better then ours and if you decide to check it out, I certainly hope it is. This place is beautiful and has great potential but until they can get service and food to a reasonable level for the price they are charging, I won't be back.
