On the topic of Alexa vs Google Home...

Wife: "Alexa, can you substitute baking soda for baking powder?"

Alexa: "Hmm, I'm not sure what you meant by that question."

Wife: "Alexa, can you substitute baking soda for baking powder?"

Alexa: "I've added baking powder to your shopping list."

Wife: "Wtf... Hey Google, can you substitute baking soda for baking powder?"

Google Home: "According to SimplyRecipes, you can substitute baking soda for baking powder, if you increase the amount of acidic ingredients in the recipe to offset the baking soda. You'll also need much less baking soda as it is 3 times as powerful as baking powder. You'll need about a teaspoon of vinegar or lemon juice for every 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda."

Wife: Dayum.

Virtual Reality is awesome. It's an incredible industry all around that is seeing rapid growth, and one that I've been super excited to follow.

It fills me with joy to see it being used in such a way, bringing excitement and happiness in new ways.
11 years ago my brother (now 34) was in an accident and broke his neck. He is now a vent-dependent quadriplegic (think Christopher Reeves).

Over Thanksgiving I had the chance to let him use my new #Daydream, Google's VR device. I showed him some 360° pictures and Cardboard Camera videos that I took during a recent trip to Italy. He was able to "experience" the Last Supper, Piazza del Dumo, Cinque Terre, and a few other places. He was pretty amazed.

Then I had him play PolyRunner VR. When I played it, I thought that it was a fun game and wasted a few minutes playing it. His response was much different:

"This is awesome!"
"This is the best Thanksgiving ever!"

and finally:

"I haven't been able to play a real video game in eleven years!"

Technology helps to make his life manageable. I'm really glad to work for company that makes products like Daydream that can make all of our lives better. Even if it is as simple as letting someone play a video game. I'm looking forward to see what else the Daydream team can do to further this kind of experience for those with disabilities.

As a kid, I loved the Cleveland Indians so damn much. They were hands down my favorite sports team. Come to think of it, I can't name another sporting team that I've ever been so passionate about. Baseball was hands down my favorite game to go to a stadium and watch.

I remember being so fucking excited to leave school early just to go to the home opener at Jacobs Field with my best friend and our dads.

Over the years, I've really fallen away from most sports. I definitely haven't kept up with baseball anywhere near the capacity I used to. I quit getting excited. I stopped following who most of the roster even was. But recently, that changed.

Baseball was always fun. It's America's Pastime. Who didn't play pick up games with their friends as a kid? It was the go-to thing for us to play. We could play in someone's yard, at a field, or we could just throw a ball around.
But it was always a game that didn't feel right unless people were having fun with it.

This version of the Indians has re-ignited my love of this game. Not only because they are they succeeding, but they seem to be having an absolute fucking blast doing it. It doesn't feel as though they're only playing for a paycheck, or just playing to win, but playing because they are loving every second of it. I wouldn't ask for anyone else to represent my hometown.

Watching this playoffs run has made me happy as all hell. It's what I've wanted to see for so long. It's made me remember what an awesome game this is.

I feel like a kid again, and damn does it feel great.

So this is really fucking cool if you don't have a rear-camera on your car. Actually, it's cool even if you do.

This is how to approach things you aren't satisfied with. Especially version 1.0 of a product 😉
Don't like Allo? Think it's missing a feature that you must have? Tried complaining on the Internet and nothing happened? Try submitting feedback. I hope this helps!
