Ignite will be at this year’s Google I/O on June 28th in SF! Last year, we had talks on microphones, disaster preparedness and how your name correlates to your career -- a "typical" Ignite line-up. We want you! We want to hear your cool ideas, hacks, how-to's, and war stories.

Each Ignite talk is 5 minutes long -- with 20 slides and only 15 seconds a slide (they auto-advance) -- and I'll be hosting the talk at I/O. If you’re not sure what to talk about, watch +Scott Berkun's excellent How and Why to Give an Ignite Talk - http://oreil.ly/I7sbnf.

Submit your talk by May 20th. Those who are chosen to give an Ignite talk will be invited as a speaker to Google I/O to partake in the excitement of this year's conference.

If you need further inspiration, you can watch any of the hundreds of Ignite videos at http://igniteshow.com.

At book signings I always get the occasional person who bought the ebook or kindle version of The Information Diet who is disappointed they can't get their book "signed" -- so I thought I'd crank out these signable laptop stickers for those folks like me who might still want to get something signed by the author. Should be there in time for the California party, and if not, they'll be there soon enough. So if you bought the book on the kindle, look for me, and I'll make sure you get an autographed sticker.

People will (mostly) pay for content when you make it easy.

"From the perspective of Valve, software piracy is caused more by convenience than it is by the cost of games.
That's according to co-founder Gabe Newell, who recently spoke at the North to Innovation conference in Seattle, giving a very frank and open outline of the modern economics of video games."

Great article on the awesomeness of Amazon. I am starting to look forward to Bezo's biography more than Steve Jobs (which I am due to start reading tomorrow). Key points:

Amazon sacrifices near-term profits for long-term investments, again without worrying about what short-term traders think.
Amazon operates at a much lower profit margin than it could have if it were trying to "maximize near-term returns," which is what many (most) American corporations try to do.
Amazon is investing--and hiring--aggressively for the future, at a time when most American corporations are cutting costs, laying off workers, and hoarding humongous piles of cash.

Yes, I agree, and it is very important to raise awareness of these privacy issues because that is the only way they will get fixed.
