My chinchilla peed on my keyboard so I couldn't work on my novel today. What's your favorite excuse for not writing?
There must be more excuses for writing than not dieting. Excuses, especially creative ones, are just so fun! Come on, I know you have one! Please share!

Using Google Apps to teach my kids math and learn how to build and then use and understand a spreadsheet ... while vacuuming. ;-)
I hear you, "Are you kidding? I can't do any one of those three!" I get you. It's time to get creative and find some creativity in your kids.

If you're thinking about having kids, you probably don't want to read this.
Do kids understand that it's the principle of the thing? Well, no. So how do we teach them?

Hi G Team! I have this note from someone who tried to put in the code but wasn't sure if it was working:

"Hi! I'm trying to use one of your Google Apps codes and I thought I found one....it said 20% off each month for 12 months for 1 user. But at the end, it's still showing it as being $50 instead of $40 or so that it would be with the discount. Can you help?"

I've heard this before. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks! -- Bradley

It's absolutely possible!
It's all possible, everything is possible. OK, fine, it's not probable, but take it in small steps. Do one thing at a time. You'll get there. Maybe.

Thought you all at the Google Apps Referral community might like this post about how I used Google Apps to help get the house cleaned (with the help of the kids), teach the kids some math, and introduce them to spreadsheets ... all while spreading the word about Google Apps!

I didn't know what Reddit really was. Now I do.
How can you know what you don't know? Ask those who know not necessarily more than you, but who know other things than you know.

Think about it from your reader's perspective.
How can you get people to care about what you write? It's simple: make it about them. When it's about them, they'll turn around and make it about you.

Education
  • Rotterdam School of Management
    MBA, 1993 - 1995
Learned a few things from the books, then a bit more from the professors, but mostly learned by doing with other entrepreneurs from around the world.
  • Université Paul Valéry
    Latin, 1988 - 1989
Chose this school because I'd be in school with French students. Not with American students who happened to be in France. Guess who learned more French?
  • Technische Universität Chemnitz
    German, 1990 - 1990
Went to school in East Germany instead of West Germany because I thought it would be more challenging. It was.
