You're not going anywhere! After returning from a lengthy week of travel, last night when I turned in for sleep, the boys (Brody and Happy) didn't follow and hop into their little bed as usual. Upon investigation, I found them both curled up inside my as yet unpacked suitcase. I think they were worried that I was going to pack it up again and leave.

Hello pluspeeps. Here's a set of photos taken this weekend at the St. Anthony Lebanese Festival. It was great fun to take a turn helping out and to photograph all of the wonderful volunteers. Everyone seemed to enjoy my odd duck of a camera.

Welcome Happy (left) and Brody, our two new family members! These adorable pups came to us through our terrific cousin Lori and the great folks at ArkanPaws rescue (yes, in Arkansas), where these two narrowly escaped an F4 tornado. They are both 3 year old Dachshunds (Brody has some wire hair in him) and are tight-knit brothers...they do everything together, including howling at passing police sirens.
Just a note on the Nexus 5 camera, a confession really. I'm a dyed in the wool film photographer, who uses digital mostly because it's now "cheaper" than film over the long haul. Even so, I've scoffed at zee chimpanzees holding out their tiny iphones at arm's length to snap away with their pseudo phone-come-cameras. And yet, starting with the Galaxy Nexus and Gingerbread (I think it was), I have to admit to being mightily impressed. Panorama, blur, photosphere, you name it; they all do quite an admirable job. Color me convinced, albeit still somewhat embarrassed to be seen "chimping." Thanks Google, and thanks Nexus 5.

Totally true guys. As a certain commercial photographer, Chaz Jarvis I think, once said, "the best camera is the one you have with you." Our various Nexii are always at our side.

Now is a good time for some Chimay Grande Reserve, I think.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hello fellow Plussers. Here are a few photos I took yesterday in honor of Worldwide Pinhole Day. All were taken in a rather gloomy Forrest Park near my house with a hastily converted Polaroid 250 pinhole camera on FujiFIlm FP100-C. If you have a few moments, and you like photography, you should take a look through the many submissions to this year's event here

Best regards,

Hey Tom. Yeah, they were indeed lovely. Made my Lamy Safari look a bit bland.
