What genre is Elysium Flare? That's at once easy and complicated.
It's light space opera. Science is important but it's not the only thing going on. If you can imagine something you want to have happen in the game and it's at least hand-wavey sciencey, then it's sciencey enough. And there are psychic and mystical elements as well, so there's room for the unexplained and even the inexplicable.
It violent enough to play out fights with some detail, but it's not about violence. The system is pared to the point that most resolutions will not be combat and even in combat your objective might well be to escape.
But mostly it's fun. Not in the sense that all play is supposed to be fun, but fun in that sense of joy and wonder that you got when you first saw Star Wars. It can be funny when it needs to be (and certainly plenty of what's in the book is deliberately funny) and yet there will be tough consequences when they are called for. There are galaxy spanning horrors, but you'll need to seek them out. And even they might be a little funny.
It's light in many senses. The system is stripped bare (not FAE bare; it's not a new game) and forces you to invent narration for your actions. It's light in that it's not a grimdark game of murder and power, but it also tangentially addresses the inevitable issues (in a world of robots and multiple species) of stereotyping and servitude.
Humans are not the yardstick for every species. They are not the most important nor the most pervasive species in the galaxy. In many ways they are hardly important at all. Certainly the mild and pleasant Aaru, the starfish-like sentient descendents of Lovecraftian horrors, are closer to that role.
I don't know what genre that is. I'll call it space opera so there's a touchstone. But think Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy, and even Fifth Element. You'll fight and you'll party. You'll run and you'll hide. You'll have a reason to get into trouble and you'll enjoy being there.

7.1.4 Distant (p.7-111) for "arm" as in "another arm altogether" read "region". That is, a distant link can connect to the hub, another arm, the rim, or a gulf. It crosses to another region, usually but not always an adjacent one but tending to skip gulfs.
Thanks to +Martin Page for this one, especially for the clarifying edit.

May have accidentally inspired an all-alien cast of The DaVinci Code.

This generator keeps on growing. The names are getting pretty hilarious -- many thanks to +Evlyn M for the idea of randomly generating names,

Okay I don't know what drives to me create these communities. I know part of it is the fact that I'm constantly getting people thanking me for doing so.
I had a big chunk of free time this morning so decided to make a new community based on the Tabletop Podcasts and Tabletop Patreons communities.
Here I give you Tabletop Gaming on Twitch.
Like the others, this is a place for content creators to share their stuff, and a place for fans to find new content. Also like the others, I'm curating a master list of content, in this case, Twitch Channels about analog gaming.
Now I'm new to twich so it's a very short list, a few shows that I managed to subscribe to over the past year, but not many as it's not one of the main ways I consume gaming content.
So I expect lots of people to point me towards their personal shows or their personal favourites.
