Just because the cold weather is here doesn't mean you should stop becoming a better sailor! We will be offering several courses including the Captain's License Course hosted by Atlantic Captain's Academy and our Coastal Navigation Course that will be sure to keep your sailing skills sharper than a tack (a metal tack, that is). See website for details.

Here are the top 5 from Saturday's #Frostbite #Racing series. We were joined on the water by Dave Dellenbaugh, who then hosted a de-brief on rules, tactics, trim, and many other points on racing a J-24 (like not letting the genoa hit you on the head when roll tacking).

Day 2 Results: November 16th
1. Dave Franzel (Somerville) - 6.75 pts
2. Andrew Baker/Tim O'Dea - 11.75 pts

The second week of video is also up! Check out Race 1 from Saturday's Frostbite Racing Series. Frosbite Racing: 11/16/13 Race 1

Founded in 1977, the Boston Sailing Center has become the most popular sailing school/sailing club in New England. The Center offers instruction from basic sailing to coastal cruising and racing. Member have access to our fleet of 70 keelboats which range in size from 23 to 40 feet. Our regular season runs May through October but we also offer frostbite racing, navigation courses, seminars and social activities during the winter months.

Our facilities are unique - a Louisiana Riverboat berthed at Lewis Wharf on Boston Harbor. Just a short walk north of Faneuil Hall Marketplace, our floating classroom and clubhouse is an excellent venue for parties and other functions. We're also close to a wide variety of historical sites, restaurants and nighttime entertainment spots. Public parking is available nearby.

From the Riverboat, we enjoy unrestricted sailing along Boston's historic waterfront and beyond, including day sails among the beautiful Boston Harbor islands, overnight trips to Marblehead and longer sails to destinations like Provincetown, Martha's Vineyard and Newport.

During our regular season we are open daily from 9:00am to Sunset.

I love this place. I've wanted to learn to sail my entire life and I learned here. The coaches were friendly and informative and pushed you to keep coming out on the water. I just started learning to race and will keep coming back. Try it out.
