Oh my gosh. Being from So Cal living near LA, there are so many delicious taco joints that I was pretty skeptical when my girlfriend pointed out that this was the best taco joint. However, I am now a full fledged believer! The tacos from here are on the pricier side, roughly 3 bucks each, however they are stuffed to the brim with meet cilantro and onions. 3 tacos will do most people well and fill them up. We got the crane Sada and carnitas. Both meats we're cooked perfectly and honestly, didn't even need to be eaten with salsa. Yeah, they were that good.

I would describe the fare as higher end authentic Mexican cuisine. I was very happy with the items that I tried! It is on the pricier side but I would say it is worth it for sure! Also the patio is great!

Just had an early dinner here. Service was exceptionally prompt and the food was spot on authentic! I don't get to LA much, but you can bet I'll eat here every time I can!

Been living within a stone's throw for many years, but never really thought I'd be eating here one day. The enticement of happy hour always gets me but this happy hour is not one to be happy about. For 3 dollars per street taco, I really expected more than what I could get for half off at a taco truck, but sadly it's not so. Luckily alcohol happy hour was comparable to neighboring bars. Entree prices range from high teens to high twenties, but in my book, Mexican food should never be that pricey. My thoughts is that this place is made to be convenient for tourists staying at the connected Westin Bonaventure. The upside is that service is friendly and there's an isolated patio. -=-Carnitas Plate-=- The carnitas here are of the thicker cube cuts variety. Each bite was soft, tender and fatty, all my favorite qualities. You get about 3 good cuts of pork that rest on the scoop of grits underneath. Carnitas were good, no complaints there, since each cut was juicy and melted in your mouth. The piece of chipotle glazed bacon on top seemed like a ploy to just get more meats on the item description, but I could have done without it. The highlight of this plate was the Roasted Corn Grits. It was just so creamy and tasty. I was tasting buttery cornbread in every bite. The corn grits might be the only thing that may get me to come back.

I had never been to Border Grill before but decided to give it a try as I was staying at the Westin right across the street. Since it was Saturday they had the $30 all you can eat tapas menu for brunch. I thought the price was a bit steep - even for downtown LA, but I must say by the time I finished that I thought it was well worth it. My server, Alejandro, suggested many excellent tapas to try and, even though he was also tending bar, was very attentive to making sure I had plenty to eat. Even the "salsa & chip guy" was helpful by suggesting I try their extra hot habanero salsa when he saw I eagerly devoured their regular hot salsa. I can't say anything about their drinks because I didn't try any but I look forward to trying this spot again on my next trip into LA.

Went for the weekend lunch menu. The offerings are very limited with only seven or eight dishes but everyone loved their meals. We had the ceviche, quesadilla and pork sliders. The food and drinks were all great and the chips and salsa and guacamole were all very tasty.

Had the Yucatan pork for dinner it was brilliant, finger lickingly good stuff!! They also have a good selection of tequila and mezcal , you can do a tasting flight.
