*Travel Industry PR, Meet the Travel Bloggers! *
Just back from TBEX and want to share these lessons about how hotels, tour operators, and travel brands can build a relationship with travel bloggers to gain from their influence, reach, and social media expertise. This post will take you though these 3 key areas. Thanks to +Jason Falls of +Elasticity for providing the inspiration, statistics, and recommendations to follow.
1. Why Reach Out to Travel Bloggers
2. Finding Influential Travel Blogs
3. When Travel Bloggers and PR Don’t Mix

#travelblogPR #hotelPR #tourPR #travelbloggerPR

This article will cover how to find travel bloggers that are already talking to your target market and hold influence over their vacation decisions. You’ll learn why it is …

Smart devices use wireless communications protocols including WiFi, Bluetooth, and NFC like the Apple Watch, Google Chromecast, FitBit. Conference WiFi is so often a problem as it stands today. With jamming there is a risk that guests will fail to be able run live demos to their clients and sales prospects. Is that what they really want to block?
Won't it only lead to lost conference and meeting bookings, especially when smarter hotel chains promote their "jam-free zone"? What is your opinion of this FCC lawsuit?

When does linking to your OTA booking channel (partners, not competitors) make sense? Find out how and when to optimize for OTA bookings.
When a direct booking is not a travel consumer's preferred path, tell them to "Book Now" on Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels.com, or Airbnb (for example). By making guests feel comfortable and secure, you can convert more bookings online.
A booking is better than no booking, so never force someone to book direct when they prefer the OTA experience with Booking.com, Expedia, or Viator for example. The more booking distribution channels you support, promote, and optimize for, the more booking opportunities that can convert.

Learn how to write copy for your hotel, tour, or travel agency website that paints a vivid picture (without photos).  Does your hotel room description showcase the finer details using words?  Does your tour description use sensory-rich adjectives to put the reader on vacation?  On your travel agency website, do you sell each destination with powerful action verbs?

While trip photos are necessary to entice a potential travel booker, your descriptive copy is just as important for conversion.  Our guest post from +Dustin Walker at Jet Copywriting offers 5 useful tips to approach this travel writing challenge.

Travel marketing is driven by images such as eye-popping photos, gripping video, tweet-worthy graphics and vivid descriptive text. How can you write copy that converts more lookers to bookers?

Independent and small hotels of the world shouldn't worry so much about competing with the powerful and well-funded OTAs.  The real competition is the other hotels that are located in your destination.  That is why it is still incredibly important to have a high-quality hotel website that is easy to find (SEO), easy to get in touch (contact us), and answers every property and room question.

Some travelers will always prefer to book on Expedia or Booking.com, so your goal is to get them to choose your hotel versus all the other choices that these OTAs put in from of them - regardless of booking channel.
