Check out the mini sized blocks in Karen's Tumalo Trail from my book Scraps & Shirttails II! She writes:
Hi Bonnie, Happy Thanksgiving. This is my version of your Tumalo Trail. The quilt is 50" x 60". The nine patches finish at 1-1/2". This started with leftover fabric from a BOM.
I cut all the scraps into 1" strips and made all the 9 patches with the leftovers. I worked on the 9 patches as leaders and enders for about 1 year. I did not have an idea what I would do with them until I one evening when I was looking through your books.
I love making the small blocks and just love how it turned out. I plan on quilting it with the Baptist fan design.
Missing this girl already! She and her hubby are on their way back to Louisville, Kentucky after spending the weekend with us at our cabin for Thanksgiving! She finished the binding on her Garden Party quilt while watching a plethora of Christmas movie favorites while I was binding a quilt project of my own! You can find the pattern for Garden Party in the May / June 2015 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine. #quilt#quilting#patchwork#quiltville#bonniekhunter#quiltsbyyou @quiltmakermag #gardenpartyquilt @finelystitched
This is a family photo heavy post! But be sure you make it to the bottom for a Quilt-Cam announcement and a special sale going on! The Blue Ridge Mountains are full of places to walk and hike, enjoy beautiful scenery, vast and distant vistas, plummeting waterfalls, and the amazing sounds of ...
A great shared finish from Helen! She writes: Hi Bonnie Finally completed. This is the Texas Tumbleweeds I started on the Caribbean cruise November 2014. I have enjoyed the challenge as we just started with a block and a few segments.
I did a corded binding in purple using Ricky Tims method.
Enjoy Thanksgiving with all your family. Hugs for a great quilt design
It's beautiful, Helen! Thank you for sharing! Texas Tumbleweeds is from my book MORE Adventures with Leaders & Enders. Signed copies available in the Quiltville Store at http://quiltville.com
Twas the morning after Thanksgiving and all the cabin was still. While family and friends sleep on, I am up watching the Sun disperse the fog on the Blue Ridge Parkway at the upper ridge in the distance. This is still a weekend of gratitude, even though Thanksgiving is done and the fridge is full of leftovers. This year like so many others I am especially grateful to have both of my sons together in this place for even a short visit. Life is so good, if we just stop to focus on the small things. And most of all, I love this time of year where I stop being an author, lecturer, and instructor - and just return to being a mom. #quiltville#bonniekhunter#quiltvilla#blueridgemountains#northcarolina#gratitude
