Determining who was liable for causing a car accident is not always simple. In many cases, drivers may understandably try to blame the other and both may have made mistakes to contribute to the crash. Deciding who is liable can be particularly challenging in a chain reaction crash that involved many different vehicles and drivers.

A new year is often used as an opportunity for new beginning and to make changes. It also signifies the progression of time and the fact that we are all just a little bit older than we were yesterday. Unfortunately, as we age, we can develop certain age-related health conditions that can increase our risk of being involved in certain types of accidents.

The Georgia State Department of Transportation provides that in 2013, there were 1,189 fatalities caused by auto collisions. In 2014, there were 1,169 fatalities from vehicle accidents. Even though the other driver may have caused the auto accident, you usually will not be dealing directly with that driver in attempting to settle your claim for damages. Typically, you will work directly with the other driver’s insurance company. It is, therefore, important to gather certain information while you are still at the scene of the accident.
