COLD AND FLU:
Hey all, with the approach of the colder weather, it is common for the immune system to be a little suppressed by the chill (no, cold air doesn't actually make you sick haha). In order to prevent this, there are a few things you can do:
1. If you are doing outdoor exercise, bring a change of clothes so you can change at the gym, and use the sauna if you have to wait for the shower;
2. Be extra diligent about washing your hands;
3. Stay away from the gym if you DO get sick; and
4. Take immune supporting supplements such as vitamin C, zinc, and vitamin B. I stock a combined supplement for immune support which also tends to resolve cold and flu infections MUCH more quickly.
Finally, there is evidence that being adjusted increases the activity of immune cells (T-Lymphocytes), so if you are stiff, sore and achy, getting adjusted for that may have side benefits!
Stay healthy all, and remember, advice is free.

Hi all,

Unfortunately, due to a recurring pattern of non-attendance, patients who fail to give 12 hours notice of their inability to attend for an appointment will be (with exceptions for outstanding circumstances of course) charged full price for their appointment. Reminder messages are sent out at 10.00am the day before appointments, so advising me that you will not be able to attend is as simple as responding to the reminder. Sorry if this affects those of you who are generally considerate in this manner, but it leaves gaps in my schedule where I could be treating other patients who need help, or studying to improve my ability to treat my patient base as a whole.

Thank you for your understanding.

GET BETTER SOONER, AND SAVE MONEY?
Win win! This study shows how a targeted scheme of treatment can greatly assist your recovery from back pain. Patients I have already seen will tell you that I take a bit of extra time each visit, to ask questions about the progression of your case. This is in order to make sure the initial diagnosis continues to be the cause of your concerns, if things shift, the treatment pattern may also shift to accommodate for this. You may need to have one or two extra treatments initially, but you'll avoid seeing a number of practitioners at once, as well as avoiding extra costs w medications or unnecessary treatment. If you have any concerns, or know someone who has been suffering with back pain in the long term, without resolution, feel free to ask me about more patient specific care. - Dr. A

Hi all! This pilot study showed there is a great opportunity for sufferers of sciatica to avoid surgery by seeing a chiropractor! In 60% of cases, patients who received chiropractic care were able to avoid having surgery on their spine (not only expensive but risky, as I'm sure you can appreciate)! On top of this, it was found that surgery wasn't always effective in any case, with 15% of patients not experiencing significant relief. If you know anyone with nerve pain who is considering surgery, it may be worth them trying out conservative care. There's not a lot to lose, and LOTS to be gained!

SAVE MONEY BY GETTING TREATED!
What?! I hear you ask. Chiropractic is expensive, man! Well, it just so happens that a study published in the journal Med. Care in 2012 found that patients who receive chiropractic care spend an adjusted medical cost of USD$424 less for spine related care AND USD$796 less for general medical care annually.

I'll repeat that, ALMOST EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS A YEAR is the average saving on general medical costs...the patients just stay healthier...
Sounds pretty cheap to me!

As always, advice is free!

Considering my clinic's location within a gym, coming to see me regarding any concerns about your scoliosis, or that of your family is a fantastic move! Look forward to seeing you soon. Dr. A
