I just applied to the Shuttleworth Foundation to become a fellow. In the spirit of openness, I've put my application and the video presentation on our blog: http://www.dev4x.com/blog/2016/5/1/shuttleworth-foundation-application
This is the application I put into the Shuttleworth foundation to join their fellowship program. It's part three of 'the world as I see it' blog series.

60% of today's jobs will not be needed in the near future and 65% of our kids who are currently in grade school will end up at jobs that haven’t been invented yet. These massive changes that are already taking place will only speed up in the years to come. Yet instead of being ahead of the curve, our educational systems are preparing our kids for a future stuck in the past.

Here are my thoughts on how we can disrupt education without disrupting learning and so by doing, provide our kids the best opportunity: http://www.dev4x.com/blog/2015/12/9/innovators-dilemma-how-to-disrupt-education-without-disrupting-learning
In part one, I spoke about my concerns regarding sending my children to school and why they are unable to adequately prepare our children for the future. I also shared a little about what I am doing about this issue. In part two I want to talk a little more about our approach and why it’s important to disrupt traditional education without disrupting actual learning.

My son and daughter are about to go to school and I am dreading sending them there! I am dreading the systematic dulling of their creativity by the focus on grades, standardized tests and outdated teachings. This post is about what I am doing about it: Empowering children to take their learning into their own hands!

I only had a few hours to spare before catching my flight back home, wanted to see the city and catch a bite to eat, the Space Needle resturant and observation deck were perfect! I even randomly met a good friend of mine
