"To speak about the divine, the word for me is God. I understand that is Love for someone, or highest Self for someone. To keep coming back to my true purpose, or my true north, is to contantly be bold enough to ask God to show me the way and guide me. Understanding full well, it is not 'me'. It is not 'my' job.

Rather, I have a profound purpose that is attached to the highest Self. I boldy ask God, 'What would you have me say, what would you have me do moment-by-moment?' It's a servant's heart. It's why I do this work. I want to heal myself so I can heal other people." - AWAKE with Chelsey Korus, Snowshoe, West Virginia

Some of us rely on a mantra, a poem, a word or a quote that steadies us day-to-day. Is there a beacon you can share that consistently supports you?

Tonight! Once it gets dark, be sure to get outside and look up towards the southeast sky for the four stars marking the Great Sqaure of Pegasus - a rare opportunity to spot the star Enif and the asteroid Pallas.

Kernels of wisdom courtesy of Tommy Rosen, walking the path free from addiction. What a model of balance and knowing. We sat with Tommy in the mountains of Squaw Valley, where he revealed his truth.

"There have been a series of awakenings in my life. It's an unfolding. If there is a moment when someone is struck enlightened, I've certainly never experienced that. It's more of an unfolding of greater and greater awareness. At each point for me, it was a moment of greater truth being available.

The first one for me was when I reached my bottom with drugs and alcohol. So that moment of truth, where you are finally ready to tell the truth. Since then, there have been so many through the path of yoga, the path of meditation, withdifferent teachers, different healings along the way. Different things that, at that moment in time, made a big difference for me.

When I think back to the person who I was way back in the day when I was using drugs and hurting myself, It's as if it's another person. I can't bring myself to reconcile that that person was the same person as I am, but it was. It was me at a different level of consciousness. There have been dozens of those rebirths." - Tommy Rosen, Squaw Valley, North Lake Tahoe

A moment of contemplation with the highly realized soul Dharma Mittra of Dharma Yoga Center. What an honor for Bodhi Tree to witness and receive his teachings this year at Wanderlust Festival. When asked about his inspiration, and the fruits of his spiritual discipline, he had this to say:

"The benefits of yoga are what inspired me, the psychic powers, the mental powers and also Self knowledge. The knowledge of the Self. And also of course, the states of bliss. And, to get rid of pain and suffering...lots of ignorance, identification with the body. So yoga brought me this beautiful hope and knowledge..." - Dharma Mittra, Squaw Valley North Lake Tahoe

A few mementos we wanted to share with you from our journey as the Official Bookseller of Wanderlust Festival this summer. From the pristine West Virginia Highlands, to the Colorado Rockies, we have had so much fun connecting with all of you, hearing your stories, breathing in nature, bringing our love of books and their teachings to festival goers. Stratton, Vermont, Squaw Valley and Whistler are also behind us as we venture to our last destination at Mont Tremblant carrying heaps of books on our backs. What a pilgrimage!

Bodhi lovers are nothing if not passionate! Thank you for all of the lively conversation around Bodhi Tree’s return. First, some of you have noted that we look and sound a little different from the Melrose store. We understand that, and you’re right.

Our intention is to rebirth Bodhi Tree in the most sincere and humble way, to serve the conscious community, and to offer an opportunity for discovery, delight and deeper knowledge. That naturally looks different in 2016 than it did in 1970 and feels different online than it does in person. We feel fortunate that Bodhi Tree’s beloved founders, Phil Thompson and Stan Madson, are by our side as we rebuild, contributing their personal stories, insights and ideas.

The most common query was, “Will there be a retail store?” The answer is “Yes.” Next, you asked, “Where will it be?” The answer is, “We don’t know yet—we’re looking.” But here’s some exciting news. We are opening an event space this fall on La Brea and Melrose to host speakers, book signings, workshops, oracles and music, with a small retail shop to accompany those live (and live-streamed) events. We hope to see you there!

Some of you have asked why we are building a portal at bodhitree.com as our first step. Online felt like a good place to start, because it gives everyone access to something very much needed today—a resource for awakened living. Many of you are entrepreneurs yourselves, so you can appreciate how much effort and teamwork this process demands. Most of the new Bodhi Tree team were regular Bodhi Tree customers, just like you, and strive to retain the integrity that Bodhi Tree always embodied.

We love Bodhi Tree as much as you do—and we are dedicated to keeping it alive and growing. Thank you again. You made Bodhi Tree everything it was, and will now be.
