I have been following Hyundai since their inception with the Excell in the 90's and they have grown by leaps and bounds. I currently own a 2014 Sonata and I love this car. It has great lines and just the right amount of luxury, looks, power and technology. The design is so great I have had Mercedes Benz CLS drivers look twice at it parked beside one another at a mall, you can't tell them apart. With its wide stance and sweeping lines they have a winner. Unfortunately that is not something that the designers at Hyundai felt they needed to carry over with the 2015. In my opinion the new design concept mirrors the Kia Optima and Toyota Camry. Faithful Hyundai owners have grown to appreciate the affordable features in design and technology that only Hyundai can provide. The average car owner in 2014 wants a vehicle that they can grow with but also has a balance of style and luxury without hurting their budget. Hyundai has achieved this need however I feel that making such a drastic change will hurt the brand. In 2015 something bold should have been done. I would have canceled the Sonata line all together and moved toward a new design of the Azera to mirror the Genesis. Customers need a go between before the big upgrade to the Genesis; personally it’s not for me. I don’t want a car that looks like everyone else. But there are some who will like it and take advantage of the rebates that Hyundai will have to pull out in order to move them off the lots.
