Hey all!

I just wanted to discuss landscape photography for a second. More specifically, the importance of a tripod. I have a smaller travel tripod, as well as a remote trigger. I know they're essential for shots like milky waterfalls, long exposures, and astrophotography, but are those things really necessary for just snapping a shot?

Say you had the intent to sell prints/canvas', and you're hiking along a trail. If you're in good daylight, pull out your cam, manually focus so everything is sharp, and snap the pic, with IS capabilities, shouldn't that be sharp enough?

Reason I ask, is I'm currently in Alaska, shooting a ton. When hiking up a mountain the other day, I very quickly grew tired of pulling out my tripod, setting everything up, and taking a shot. For the rest of the hike, I handheld everything. They look pretty darn sharp in Lightroom to me.

I guess I'm just looking for someone elses two cents, if anyone has sold a landscape print/canvas off of handheld shots, or am I commiting a cardinal sin of landcape photography?

Thanks! :D

I'm not one to stay up to the middle of the night. If this super astroid meteor shower bananza doesn't happen... I might... Implode.
