Dakno Real Estate Web Design VP
VP at Dakno Real Estate Web Design & Marketing, I'm Bobby Carroll and I'm tasked with managing real estate agent and agencies web design, marketing needs as well as Dakno's social media marketing.

The SEO Game Has Changed - ALL Because of Google+
While many are pursuing traditional, even dated, ineffective SEO strategies for real estate search engine optimization, times have changed in light of Google+. Now more than ever, real estate professionals and real estate agencies need to tap in to the power of GooglePlus. That means creating an optimized Google+ personal profile with tagline with your targeted keywords, a robust introduction and your bragging rights.

Google is basically saying;
  • tell us who you are
  • what you do
  • where you do it
  • how well you know what it is you do
Basically - be a subject matter expert and tell Google all about it!

A total Google+ presence also includes leveraging your Google+ Business page and Google Local for organic mapped results. But don't stop there! It's important you engage, share your content, be seen as a giver, and show extreme value. By engaging, re-sharing content, +1ing, and commenting you build influence for others and that increases your own influence. As the saying goes; give and it will given back to you!

Be an Engaged GooglePlus Learner
If you'll invest a few minutes a day on GooglePlus you'll quickly recognize this platform offers an abundant wealth of information. And GooglePlus has many generous experts who you should consider adding to your circles. A few of these include:
  1. Bill Gassett
  2. Jesse Wojdylo
  3. Mark Traphagen
  4. Phil Buckley
  5. David Amerland
I'm pleased to have interacted with each of these individuals, some in person but all here on Google+. They are the "real deal". They represent the best of what Google+ has to offer.

Other Roles at Dakno Web Design
Because we cater to clients of all shapes and sizes, I wear many hats at Dakno. From coaching real estate agents in the art of blogging and social media marketing to evaluating design and functionality, it's all in an effort to help Dakno clients gain the most from their online and offline marketing strategies.

Gaining a sense of fulfillment giving away helpful real estate marketing tips, many of our Dakno clients and peers say I possess a passion for helping my partners and friends build their digital brand and their business.

REALTORS - This is BIG! Google+ Announces "Pinterest-like" Image Collections!

Now you can put the power of your real estate images to good use by creating categories of collections of images. Read all about it!

Introducing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic

Our happiest Google+ users are those who connect with others around shared interests and passions. So we set out to give people a place to express the things they love. Today, we’re announcing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic.

Every collection is a focused set of posts on a particular topic, providing an easy way for you to organize all the things you’re into. Each collection can be shared publicly, privately, or with a custom set of people. Once you create your first collection, your profile will display a new tab where other people can find and follow your collections.

Posts in collections you follow will appear in your Home stream, with a link to easily jump right into the collection so you can get to similar content from that author. Collections give you a great way to find more of the stuff you love from the people you follow.

Collections is available on Android and the web, and iOS is coming later. For Android users, make sure to update your Google+ app to get access to Collections.

For inspiration on interesting topics, check out our Featured Collections page here:

Create your collections today and share what you love.

Real estate professionals, do you "Think with Google"?
Google Wants to Help Real Estate Agents Market to Homebuyers Smarter - with Think With Google!
For real estate professionals, this is awesome intel provided by Google.

As the Think with Google article states, home buyers today search for and digest bite sized morsels of information to cumulatively make a really big decision. A decision every real estate agent hopes to help buyers make - helping them buy the home of their dreams.

Agents need to think like marketers, and need to be aware what information pieces are important within the decision timeline of a home buyer.

Fortunately, Google has all the data for us.

The first is the need to know how much I can afford. To help answer that question, agent sites need to make available simple tools like a mortgage calculator, Google states searches for mortgage calculators are up… way up.

Your website needs to provide high-value content that addresses that big question - how much can I afford in a home?

As the article states much of this search happens on a mobile device.

Agent websites also need to "be there” when buyers want to “chip away" at bits of research in their “free moments”. If your website isn't mobile friendly, you will not be there.

Another need agents should to be ready to address is “how can I (and my website) be helpful at each moment? Are my content marketing strategies "shaping preferences starting from the beginning? Do I offer the right experience for the screen and the context?”

When you build your real estate website, every department of your marketing partner should be engaged in helping shape your website to address these consumer needs for digestible morsels of information for your buyers. This includes the design team, the copywriting team, the development team and the SEO/marketer team.

That's how we Think with Google here at +Dakno Marketing

Here is the Think with Google article:

Great share +Bobby Carroll.  I fear real estate agents are not utilizing and/or understanding all the tools consumers are already using.
Real Estate is a lot of work.  Hard to keep up with a fire hose of information swirling around them.  I get it.

Awesome Real Estate Agent Landing Page Tips from +Christina Ethridge!

In this video, Christina gives great advice on creating solid buyer lead generating landing pages for Facebook ads!

While the highest and best landing pages recommended by Christina were void of the agent's branding, we believe it's best to remind your visitors of your brand.

You'll note that the best landing pages are void of the main navigation menu so visitors are trapped on the page.

Here are several +Dakno Marketing client examples based on Christina's tips:

+The Bittinger Team : (Customized DaknoIDX landing page)

+Leslie Cain Realty : (Customized +IDX Broker landing page)

+Florida Future Realty, Inc. : (Customized +IDX Broker landing page)

What questions do you have about creating robust lead generating landing pages?

I’ve been so pleased with what the implementation team--Kris Murray--has done and it’s exciting to see the website come along so seamlessly! I expected to spend many hours of my time working on content and setting things up, but amazingly, you all did it all for me. I also value the extra support and advice that Bobby has offered that is important to Collins Design Realty's marketing success!

We stopped by Porter Farmers for fresh picked strawberries and some their famous all natural, homemade ice cream. This was our first visit but will not be our last! I ordered the strawberry shortcake sundae and "oh my goodness", it was awesome! They piled a generous helping of fresh cut strawberries on 3 scopes of ice cream all on homemade pound cake with plenty of whipped cream! Awesome! All of this rich goodness served up by a polite staff at a fair price. 5 stars aren't enough!!

The wife and I eat lunch here today. She ordered the chopped BBQ sandwich. I had the half rack of pork ribs (wet). The restaurant was clean, the service was great (thanks Edith) and the prices were good . The ribs were awesome! Nice and tender. I had the baked beans and fries. Those were tasty. If you order the chopped BBQ don't expect the type of chopped pig like you get from traditional down eastern NC restaurants like Wilber's, Parker's, and Clyde Cooper's. The BBQ had a nice smokey taste but it was dry and not at all what eastern BBQ should taste like. It actually reminded me of the BBQ like you get from The Pit. I'm just not a fan of that type of BBQ. Give me traditional eastern pit cooked BBQ like those restaurants listed above. They are the gold standard for eastern NC BBQ!!

I've eaten BBQ from one end of NC to the other (Murphy to Manteo as we like to say!). Clyde Cooper's BBQ is as good as they come. If you want good pork barbecue, tasty side dishes like cole slaw, mix of butter beans and corn plus yummy hush puppies/fried pork rinds topped off with sweet tea served up with good service, Clyde Cooper's BBQ is mighty fine eaten Eastern NC style.

If I were to choose one word to describe our meal and service this evening, it would be impressive. I ordered the flat bread french dip and my wife ordered the black forest sandwich. Our order was taken when we were seated and our drinks arrived quickly. The meals arrived in a timely manner, and the servings were plentiful and tasty. We experienced excellent service and our glasses were consistently filled. This was our second visit to the Fox and Hound and we will be returning.

We read the other reviews about Poole's being a "posh" diner with delicious food so we thought we would give it a try. Underwhelmed would best describe our meal. The service was fine. But I'm still scratching my head how my baked chicken and mashed potatoes was a $19 meal. No bread. No salad. It was tasty but for $19? Not hardly. My wife had the appetizer of pimento cheese and crackers. Again, the food was pretty tasty but for one entree, one appetizer and two glasses of water for $30. I had eaten at Poole's back in the day when it was a luncheonette. Oh to have it back. My trip down memory lane was a pricey one and and not a good value at all.

Like many, we purchased the buy one get one free 1.5 hour self-guided Paddle Creek Neuse River Paddle. After checking in at Paddle Creek, we boarded a van for our quick trip from the Paddle Creek HQ to where our kayaks were put in the Neuse for us. We brought along our own paddles and PFDs. Others on the excursion were issued their own. After listening to the disclaimers, we were on our way down the river. The kayaks were in average condition. Being at the end of the season, that was understandable. My boat was missing the seat bottom cushion. We enjoyed the paddle (our first on the Neuse River) and soon we were at the take out location where the Paddle Creek team loaded our boats for our short drive back to the Paddle Creek store. If you are looking for a self-guided, easy paddle down the Neuse River, Paddle Creek does a nice job arranging and coordinating the paddle.
