This park has a FANTASTIC view of SFO. If drive to the end of the park where the boat doc is, planes fly so low you think they're landing a few feet away. There are several strategically places playgrounds parceled out by age group. It's a great place to bring the fam' on a sunny day. The parking fee filters out some folks, and can thin out a crowd a bit, which is nice.

Ok, Ok, believe the hype. There's a constant stream of teenagers wrapped around the block for a simple pearl milk tea. Don't say teenagers never taught you anything, because they got this one right. Despite it's incredibly long line, it's relatively fast. It's customizable flavor's and sweetness and friendly staff put this place ahead of the likes of quickly.

If you eat here, you should order the chef's special. They bring in fresh fish daily, and the quality can't be beat. Staff are friendly and fast. Another San Mateo staple.

Too bad there are no 1/2 stars otherwise I'd give it 3.5 stars If I had 1 sentence to characterize the experience it would be "Completed 30 minutes worth of thinking in 1 hour". You read that right. I had read a few reviews on float matrix and an article in mens journal about sensory deprivation, it piqued my interest. Mens Journal oversold it a bit. "It's like a 2 month vacation!" and "completely relaxed!". I'd say that I accomplished what I set out to do, which was spend some time thinking about stuff I haven't had time to due to distractions. Etiquette: 1. Disrobe 2. Shower 3. Put on ear plugs 4. Jump in the box naked 5. turn off the light 6. drift away to where ever in my case it was working on a few ideas for work. 7. light comes on and polite knock on the vessel. 8. dry off 9. shower 10. Thank the owner and walk out Cons: 1. I left feeling a little sea sick. I might have been moving around too much because my neck started to get stiff, but 4 hours later I'm still looking for my land legs. 2. It's not 100% quite nor dark. I was expecting not to be able to hear anything but there was a mild rumble (air vent?) for the entire duration. It didn't bother me, but time to time it crept into my conscious. 3. Even though there is 1/2 of salt in the water. I don't think they change it after each person. Lastly, when I left the building I felt like I was on a date that was going pretty well, but ended short. I'll definitely go back again (since I have the introductory 3 float package) and possibly go for the 2 hour float.

Great location, right at the Cal-train stop. Plenty of parking. The food, is what you would expect. Great happy hour prices. I wouldn't come here to watch the game though, the TV's are small, and you have to be at the bar to see the screen.

I lived across the street from Ironside for a year. I watched the construction workers come in and out for months. I couldn't wait to eat there after I saw them erect the 60's art deco style surfer picture. I had high hopes for this neighborhood pub/ restaurant. After a few long months of anticipation, they finally opened with a simple menu. Within a month, I had eaten almost everything on the menu. 2 tips: 1 buffalo burger, deliciou's, second raclette with fig sauce....OMG Everything else too heavy handed, too salty and greasy. It's like there's two different chef's in the kitchen one to handle the cheese and burgers and another one to screw up the other food. The average foods? The pizza felt like a decent deal and tastes like it costs. The last thing, they are open early and serve breakfast (sort of), the decorate did a fantastic job with the place it's everything I love about this type of restaurant and wouldn't change a thing about the decor/ tables/ chairs. Stop by if you're a local, skip if you want great food.
