Though I am an entrepreneur by heart, have founded my own company, have patents, and what not, I hate the though that defines who I am. So here's some frames:
View on the Technology World: Technology in general, not from the latest and greatest, but from the perspective of change and changing humanity and the more disruptive that changes is, the more it gets me going. For example: smart phones: I am not so interested in the latest screen, fastest mobile processor, instagram, runkeeper, and other apps, but rather that those devices are slowly changing our lives from travel to communications to sharing experiences, to commerce, to trust and sharing of things. Another example is the interesting thing about a game like WoW is not that there are so many people playing it, not the technology behind it, or sheer entertainment business, but rather that you have people of all ages from all over the world working together in a completely voluntary way to accomplish a single goal that has nothing to do with anything in the real world AND those people really don't care where you are or who you are. It will be the way the world works tomorrow. (If I had time and the computer system, I'd still play)
Bit of a gamer: World of Warcraft and some eSports like Dota 2 on the PC to Borderlands on the XBox and Halo. Both my wife and I are fairly avid gamers, though we are picky about our games and generally play together; Borderlands is our favorite because it allows us to play side-by-side on the couch.
Movies: Pretty much everything... but lean towards films with more depth. I will go out on a limb and say I did not think Avatar or Avengers were any good - all special effects and no story.... The best film I have seen recently is Star Trek: Into Darkness, American Hustle, and Dallas Buyers Club.
Hobbies: Chess, Golf (though I haven't played in years), Pool & Billiards (I really miss that but there is so much smoking in Atlanta that it keeps me out....and alive), Darts (c&p on the smoking), and am generally competitive at just about everything. That said - I have a hard time with hobbies unless there is business potential.
Other interests: Economics, especially European. Any science, especially high energy physics. Any engineering, especially new propulsion systems and power systems. Alternative energies, especially fusion. Computer-based home theater systems and smart home systems. LED lighting, especially network connected, color changing, and OLED really gets me going.
Daily drivers: Fitness, Health, and focus on a plant-based-diet. I like to be fit; it feels good. I try to be healthy so that I can be around for a long time. I avoid animal products whenever possible for a number of reasons but the largest is for health.
Tidbits: We are also proud owners of a plug-in, zero emission, all electric 2012 Nissan Leaf. Best car I've ever owned and nothing like driving 450 miles on $2.25 worth of electricity! No oil changes, no belts, basically no maintenance except i
All that is nice and all... but I truly live for my wife, Priscilla.
