Mix Bus Compression for Better Mixes. In this video I'm using the SSL G Master Bus Compressor on the Mix or Master Bus to tighten the overall mix. Some will call this "Gluing the Mix" or better known as Audio Glue!

Sidechain Compression Ducking! I’m using a Sidechain Compressor to create a ducking technique for a lead guitar. The vocal track is the key input for the guitar compressor! I'm using Pro Tools 12 but any DAW will work using this technique! Enjoy!

Music Production  -

I'm recording a Taylor acoustic guitar and tracking live drums. The key to recording a big acoustic sound is to recorded a second track with different guitar cords. Play open chords verses barre chords and pan hard left and right. The Taylor acoustic guitar was mic'd with a Rode NT1A pointed at the 12th fret. Minimum processing. Using EQ and compression on most tracks. Plate reverb on the snare drum and delay on the vocals. All comments/critiques are welcome! Thanks. https://www.youtube.com/user/gofirjet

I wrote this song on my Taylor acoustic about getting older and outgrowing drunken calls. I thought it needed a little more production so I added a couple of electric guitars, bass, and drums. The Tele is through a Fender Deluxe Reverb amp and the Peavey bass is DI. Recorded with Logic Pro X. All comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks in advance for the listen.

Installing and Hiving a Package of Bees! I'm removing the Queen Bee from the Queen cage and placing her between frames. Pouring some of the worker bees on top of the queen cage and the rest in the hive box. Wax foundation frames are put back into place and the hive is closed up for one week. We'll inspect the hive to make sure the queen has been released and is doing her job in about 7 day!

Unless the cover is something different it has a notch so the bees will have an upper entrance. From the way it looked in the video you have it where the notch was on the top side not the bottom. Could be just the way it looked on the video. Once again with the queen cage looked like you had it the other way. Good job on the install either way. Let me know how they are doing when you do your first inspection. How long are you going to wait?

A few months ago I had an idea for a song and I posted a rough mix asking my subscriber to critique the production and songwriting. I received some great feedback and critiques! Now I’m ready to publish my rewrite.! Now this process is not very helpful unless I’m willing to keep and open mind, develop a thick skin and willing explore some new ideas. I didn’t incorporate every suggestions but I did take to heart some of the ideas and suggestions that struck a chord with me. Keep in mind that most songwriting ideas start with just a minimal spark and the rest is just hard work and dedication to the songwriting process. If you want to hear the original post, look for video Songwriting / Production Critique.

So here it is after some critiques and suggestions!  My final mix of my song “Playing For You” Enjoy!

Audio Tutorial on Phase Cancellation. Fixing phase cancellation in audio is more that just flipping the phase 180 degrees. I'm using Logic Pro X but any DAW will do.
