God will allow conflict in our lives so we will see our own weakness.

To begin with, let me say that I hope that this place can continue to make a go of it. We found the food to be no more than OK. I tried to order a grilled cheese sandwich, (or their take on it), and was told that they were out. Not sure how you can run out of cheese and bread prior to an early Saturday lunch, but I rolled with it and ordered the pulled pork instead. The pork itself wasn't horrible. I've been across this country eating Barbeque, (including most of the North Carolina Barbecue Trail and count Dionsaur BBQ in NY and Rollin' Smoke in Vegas as two of my favorites), and I've had good, OK, and fabulous. Let me tell you in my life, and as a former line cook, I've never had anything so remotely disgusting as the stuff they put on top of their pulled pork. I was told it was a fennel salad and it was my mistake not to have read the menu a little closer to know that it was listed as an ingredient for the finished product. I can't begin to understand what they are trying to do, or why they wouldn't just put coleslaw, (the regular, universally known and accepted companion to pulled pork), but it was horrible. It lacked any color other than a brownish, off white tint that resembled spoiled mayonnaise based coleslaw. My comment to the server was "Why ruin a tried and true good thing with this stuff?" He was gracious, but that comment was made only after all of our food was gone when he finally came back to check on us even though we were sitting at the bar. She had a cob salad which was nicely presented, and tasted good, but seemed a bit shy on the portion side. We ended up ordering the french fries for a little extra and those were really good. It seemed kind of weird that they were doing que and didn't offer a burger or sausage since it's a brew pub. Food prices seemed a little high all things considered, but not completely out of line. We thought the beer was pretty good. I tend to like lagers and heavier beers and thought that there were a few too many "hopped" up beers, but we enjoyed a flight as well as pints of Bexbach and Old Soul that we thought were just plain good drinkin' beers. We weren't impressed with the Electric Peach, (too tart), or the Millrace Hefe, (just too out there with the bananas and cloves-we expected beer not mulled cider flavors). The bar itself seemed a little cold, hard and small, not completely inviting from the standpoint of design, but the stools fit nicely and we were able to belly up. The whole building was certainly unique and the atmosphere jovial and friendly. It's a bit eclectic and somewhat Bohemian, with a little too much joking around going on by the servers and bartenders in my opinion, but if they focus on putting out good solid, non-freaky beer, get rid of the fennel salad on the que, and shorten the distance to the front door from the parking lot they might just make it. But for a town that's never really had something like this, I can see where most people will eat-and drink-it up.

Not only is it a blast and economical way to spend an hour or so, the Pinball Hall of Fame is a walk back into history. Restored and playable machines as well as others that are being restored gives you a glimpse back into simpler times, yet also gives you a lot of respect for craftsmanship and engineering. Great place to re-live old memories and/or make new ones for people of all ages. HIGHLY recommended!
