Module Advice and Converting Ideas  -

I'm not imagining things right? I was involved in a conversation with someone wanting to make a DCC sheet in the style of a classic 1st Ed sheet as well as a Judge's log sheet...

I'm still interested. If that person wants to contact me off list I'd love to see them progress.

True, the paper is the foundation of a good character sheet. One could say it is all about that...base. ;)

Hey Folks,
Having gotten the okay to spill the beans, I wanted to urge everyone to back the Goodman Games, Fifth Edition Fantasy kickstarter. I'm writing some of the drop in encounters which will make up Fifth Edition Fantasy #6. The more people that pledge, the more encounters there are!
Goodman Games is raising funds for Fifth Edition Fantasy Adventure Modules on Kickstarter! New adventures for the 5th edition of the world’s first fantasy RPG! World-neutral, stand-alone, and ready to drop into your campaign!

Session Reports & Cool Stories  -

Often times a game session can be summed up with the memorable image from the game. +Jen Brinkman plays Mitzi, a mutant cocker spaniel with human forearms and grasshopper like hind legs. Today's image....

Mitzi sits dejected, cotton candy in one hand, a balloon tied to her other wrist, while being scolded by the sole human in the party. Forlorn cocker spaniel...

DCC-specific Discussion  -

There is a bit of interesting syntax in the rule book which I'd never seen before when it comes to choosing a character class. It states that Dwarf, Elf, and halfling may only be "chosen" by...it doesn't say automatically ARE (which I am fairly certain is the actual intent).

Now, I think it is meant to reflect that nobody else can choose those while the races are automatic, but it does open up an interesting nit to pick for an elf who REALLY wants to play a warrior.

The folks at Studio City Tattoo gave me my first tattoo. Now, to folks already familiar with getting a tattoo, that might not seem like a big deal, but to me, I wasn't certain what to expect. The atmosphere was thoroughly pirate (fitting for a tattoo shop I think) and the staff all friendly and knowledgeable. Before needle had touched skin I knew exactly what to expect and it was a great experience. The tattoo itself is wonderful, aftercare was clearly explained, and I left in a great mood. While a newcomer to tattoos might find the process of selecting a tattoo shop daunting and intimidating, this is just the perfect little shop. Certainly amongst the top shops on the west coast, and a pleasure to deal with.

We found Dr Randall through sheer happenstance. He was the closest vet to our home when we moved to the area. That made us very lucky. When one of our cats was diagnosed with diabetes, it was only the solid advice of Dr Randall that bought us as much time with Amadeus as we had. His knowledge was a mixture of cutting edge veterinary science and old, down-home, techniques (such as giving a cat chicken livers to stop diarrhea) that works. Of course, it goes far beyond that. It isn't that Dr Randall cares about his patients. I'd say that all veterinarians do. It is that he invests himself in their well being. The outcome truly matters to him. Dr David Randall is the James Herriot of SW Florida, and we are lucky to have him.
