I might question an actor's winemaking talent but certainly not his or her wine marketing talent.

Why should we, the wine-consuming public, put our trust in the palate of some big-name personality from Hollywood, that longstanding bastion of hucksterdom? Acting, like winemaking, is a craft. But they’re not the same ~ via  +Chris Shott at http://www.foodrepublic.com

Don't worry if you take risks and at times fail. It comes with the territory of being a creative.

"The ability to think and act creatively comes down to having good knowledge of yourself and the best working practices for you, and to have the confidence to challenge yourself. It is also about deciding to take those risks, follow those dreams, and to learn to deal with failure."

Introduced to the world of "Pet-Nat" at +Donkey & Goat  yesterday. Fun bubbles for fun times!

"Pet-Nat (or Pet’Nat) is short for Petillant Naturel. It means natural sparkling wine that is produced with little or no additives. Petillant Naturel wines are bottled during the primary fermentation as opposed to more traditional sparklers like Champagne or Prosecco, which go through a second bottling to produce the bubbles. This process captures the natural CO2 from the wine. Only the native sugars and yeast from the grapes are present in production of Pet-Nat."

What is Pet-Nat wine? It's about the most fun thing captured in a bottle. If you need a reason to drink it, here are 25.

This place is like being in a time warp stuck in the 80s. Let's start with the positive aspects about this 24 Hour Fitness in that it does offer convenient freeway access, staff members are exceptionally helpful and friendly, bathroom changing area was reasonably clean, and all the equipment I used worked properly although much of it needed updating as does the whole gym. The facility itself is in desperate need of a makeover. The faded 80s color scheme caused me to pause to listen if I would hear Olivia Newton John 's "Physical" playing over the speakers. The gym is small, crowded, low ceilings, and smelled like a dirty laundry hamper. Walk into the wet area where there is a swimming pool and you will be asphyxiated with gaseous chlorine. The ventilation system seemed to be overtaxed in keeping the air fresh in both the pool and gym areas. Not an enjoyable experience. I will look for a different 24 Hour Fitness location next time I am in Sacramento.

What a flavorful surprise discovering Saucy! Loved this happy hip foodie find in Ukiah. Based on a recommendation during a recent trip to Mendocino County we stopped for dinner and so glad we did. Delicious crispy tangy calamari and sensational Salsiccia pizza paired perfectly with their local wine selection. Food and service was top shelf.
