The staff was compassionate and very caring when I took my very sick and dying little gecko here. I drove about an hour to come see Dr. Hollars, because she is BY FAR the best exotics veterinarian I know. I wish I had taken my gecko to see her sooner, but I had taken him to 2 other veterinarians closer to home first. By the time she got to see him, he was already so weak and very sick. He died on the way home, but I have no doubt that she put in everything in her power to try and save him. She was hard at work calculating the special doses for his tiny body. The cost was way under what I was expecting to pay too, which was a nice surprise on a super sad day. Not only did they make me feel cared about while I was there, but they sent me a sympathy card after hearing that my little guy didn't make it. I would recommend this clinic, and especially Dr. Hollars, to anyone :)

My dog has had chronic ear infections since I got him. He is in a lot of pain and I feel helpless. I want science based medicine and the best care for him which is exactly why I bring him to Boat Club Rd Animal Hospital. They have done culture and sensitivity tests on the microorganisms causing the infections which led to the best antibiotic choice. They also drew blood for external allergens testing to help get to the root cause of the infections. They advised against allergy testing for ingested material because it was unreliable. I appreciate the candor. I trust the care my dog receives here and highly recommend Dr. Martin. She rocks!

They give your pet great attention and they have excellent service, but that doesn't come without a price! They will nickel and dime you to death on top of their already extremely high pricing. You would think that with pricing as high as they have that they could overlook some of the smaller unnecessary charges. Also, they repeatedly charged for the same services upon my return trips when they couldn't figure out what was wrong with my pet. I've owned Great Danes but now own a breed half that size. Even with the larger dogs I never thought of paying more than $1000 for an ear infection. However, my current dog is still being treated for said infection with yet another visit scheduled. I guess, as they say, if you have the only shop in town the people can't go anywhere else. I would have no problem recommending them if they would only price accordingly. My recommendation - Save some cash and drive fifteen minutes down the road to Saginaw.

Jeff, thank you for taking the time to express your concerns. We have looked into your case to see where some of the misunderstanding might have originated. We saw your baby back in November with an ear infection and recommended a recheck in 10 - 14 days because her ears were red and painful and we wanted to make sure the treatment prescribed was working. We didn't see her again until January and so in essence had to start from scratch with diagnosing and treating the issue. The test we ran most recently (which is admittedly an expensive test) was a necessary next step in finding out exactly what is going on in her ears - which as we have discussed is most likely more complicated because of the underlying allergy problem she has (which hasn't been fully diagnosed or treated). We understand your frustration at having to deal with both the cost of treating the ears and the allergies - it's a lot to take on all at once. We are here to help in any way we can as you decide how to proceed. As far our prices are concerned, we aren't the "only shop in town" and do periodically review our pricing structure to be sure we are competitive for our customers and patients. We do our best to provide high quality animal care and so we don't cut corners. Providing that kind of care isn't free for us, so we do our best to price fairly for our customers and also keep the doors open to be able to care for our patients. I hope this has helped allay some of your concerns. We have been taking our pets to Boat Club Road Animal Hospital, for 13 years now. Dr Dedwylder, and Dr. Harper have been so kind and so gentle with our pets thru their lives and have gave them the best of care. Our first two were older when we moved here and they started taking care of them. They helped us with both of them when it was time for them to cross over the Rainbow bridge, our pets had the dignity and respect they deserve when they time was up. We now have two new little babies and that is what they are to us. Dr. Dedwylder and Dr. Martin have started with them now and we just had our little girl spayed and I could not have asked for better service, they work with you and give you up front pricing which is important to alot of people. You can look around and find some maybe cheaper, but that is what you will be getting. If you want good care for your pet, and to know that your baby will be treated with all the dignity and respect they deserve from the Doctors and the staff then I recommend then to you.

Great all-in-one place! Grooming, boarding, Vet, and "daycare," they've got! Very caring, friendly staff too! They're honest people who genuinely care about animals and the experience had there. 5 STARS!

WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE. All they seemed to care for was money. My first experience was good, they helped me out, were nice. I recently had a litter of 10. First thing out of her mouth was we are going to have to charge you for two litters there is to many pups, after being told a litter exam was $60 what I paid the first time didn't know she had two litters on the same day. Anyways I basically paid $200 for Dewormer and one skin scrape. One of the lady I was asking questions to told me "your looking for answers I cannot give you." Hmmm well I came to the vet for answers. They did not care at all. Would never recommend to anyone.

Hi Arthur, Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns. Our apologies for not responding before now. We've looked into the situation that you mentioned and have found out that you weren't notified of the fact that we would have to charge two exam fees for such a large litter of puppies. We do apologize - that should have been communicated to you over the phone when you scheduled the appointment. Since we do a thorough exam on each puppy, we feel that the cost of $12 per exam is more than reasonable - especially when there are issues to addressed with each puppy as there were with your litter. Our litter exam is supposed to be 5 puppies or less, so you were charged our normal fee. We are committed to providing high quality care for our patients and in doing that we do our best not to cut corners. We have been taking our four mixed breed dogs to BCRAH for the past 6 years and have had nothing but excellent care. The staff and Doctors are always very friendly and attentive. I always am offered a bottled water or fresh coffee when I come in. One of our puppies had a bad reaction to some flea medicine and they treated her for free and even paid our Vet bill at the emergency pet hospital, as the reaction happened on a Sunday morning. We have had to put two of our dogs down in the past two years due to old age and illness, and both times they were very kind and understanding. We haven't had a chance to board with them, we choose to use a "pet sitter", but we have used their grooming clinic and have been most pleased.
