~Our Sangha sends warm wishes to our Spiritual Director and Priest, Sha'ul Justice-Elk, as he prepares to move to St. Paul, Minnesota on April 10th for work.  Join us Sunday April 10th for our Priest's last resident service for food and blessings!  Please see our homepage for more detailed information.

Join us this Tuesday, 8 December 2015, at 6:30p for our Festival of Lights Ceremony.

This traditional Buddhist holiday marks the Enlightenment of Prince Siddhartha Gautama and to celebrate, we will be holding an evening service in our temple featuring many lights and candles. In addition to our regular liturgy, there will be special readings, a “Bathing the Buddha” ceremony, and a traditional feast (tsog).  These practices greatly increase personal merit 100,000 times and when practiced as a sangha, the whole community’s merit is also increased.

In order to share in this wonderful practice and receive the excellent blessings, we ask that everyone please bring something – a food or drink item – to be offered up for the tsog. For the ease of feast, please bring “finger foods” such as:

Nuts – already shelled
Fruits – grapes, berries, cherries, etc.
Vegetables – pre-cut carrots, celery sticks, etc
Cheeses – bite size or individual sizes such as Laughing Cow products
Drinks – soft drinks, juices, teas, coffee, etc.

This list is just a very basic suggestion – bring whatever you would like to offer/share with the Buddhas. Try to bring enough to share with 10~12 people.

If you are unable to attend but would still like to share in the merit, you may help sponsor the tsog by making a monetary donation of any size. This will be used to purchase (or reimburse) items for the feast. This is also a very traditional practice in Buddhism. To help sponsor the tsog, please make sure to mark your donation with the words “Tsog Donation”.
The tsog portion of the service will be accompanied by special music from the Chöd lineage of MaChig Labdronma.

We hope you will be able to join us!

Our beautiful blue tree is growing!

As we begin rolling into fall, the Blue Lotus Dharma Center will be expanding our Sunday service.  We will be adding things such as music, expanded incense offerings etc.  As we add new ritual elements to the service, we ask that the sangha remain mindful, and open-minded.  It may be a good idea for everyone to read or re-read the placards on temple etiquette placed around the center and try to observe these guidelines as closely as possible.  Together we can make our services more complete, organized, and meaningful.  Thank you!

The study of the Vimalakirti sutra at the BLDC on Tuesday nights is now complete.

The Meditation Course we offered is now available electronically via G-Drive (it is an unedited version) for those that would like a copy of it. The cost of this recorded course is $30 - payable to BLDC memo: Meditation Course 2015. The recording is free to those that attended the course.

The Blue Lotus Dharma Center now allows people to attend online service via Oovoo.  For more information, e-mail
