I worked on the JSF back in the proposal days.  When the down select to two different contractors was made McDonald Douglas didn't make the cut.  It was down to just Boeing and Lockheed Martin.  The government LOVED the Boeing design.  And the government REALLY didn't want McD to run the program.  What does Boeing do?  Runs out and buys McDonnald D...
