In the entire world 783 million people lack access to safe, clean water; 40 percent live in Sub-Saharan Africa. Check out this info graphic from www.pjdore.com. It breaks down the problems people are facing when it comes to water. Help change this one person, one family, one village at a time. Get started at saveadrink.org.

Today is National Inconvenience Yourself Day. It's meant to serve as a day to pay extra respect and regard to others. So, today is the perfect day to start your Save a Drink page. Why? Because you can inconvenience yourself by giving up your favorite drink today (and the rest of Lent) all to bring clean water to three villages in Rwanda. It's a small inconvenience with HUGE impact. The more people that inconvenience themselves, the closer we are to unlocking a $25,000 match. It unlocks when we reach 1,000 participants. Inconvenience yourself here: saveadrink.org

It's not the 83 inches that New England has seen, but this little ice storm is definitely shutting down Nashville. This is what it's looking like near the Blood:Water office.

But, hey, since a lot of the country is stuck inside anyway today, why not take this as an opportunity to get a jump start on Save a Drink, Save a Life? Drink only water for the 40 days leading up to Easter and donate what you save by not buying other drinks to help bring clean water to three villages in Rwanda. Since you're not out buying drinks, today is a perfect day to start saving!

Help us get to 1,000 fundraisers and unlock a $25,000 match! saveadrink.org

#TBT Rwanda 2007: Children collect water from a protected spring. The water they are drinking won't make them sick. (P.S. Check out our co-founder's short hair)!

Rwanda today: This Lent, help us bring the reality of clean water to three more villages in southern Rwanda. There's still plenty of time till Easter. saveadrink.org

Meet Chantel. Her friend Aline is a little further down the path. Every single day they carry several jerry cans down the side of a mountain for nearly an hour. At the bottom, they fill the cans up with water. They then turn around and carry the jugs back up the mountain for another hour all so their families have something to drink. The worst part: the water they collected is dirty and often makes them sick.

The season of Lent has just started. And we are using the 40 days to bring clean water to Chantel's and Aline's village, along with two other villages in Rwanda. You can help, too, by giving up your favorite drink for Lent and donating what you save by not buying that drink.

Print off their picture and put it on your fridge so that every time you see them you will remember why you're participating in saveadrink.org because your saved drinks will bring clean water directly to those two little girls.

Photo Friday goes to these smiling faces. We had the privilege of meeting them last month and getting to know them. To name a few, meet Irene, Florance, and Emmanuel. These are just a few of the children you are literally helping through Save a Drink, Save a Life. Funds you save will go to bring clean water directly to their village and two other villages in southern Rwanda. saveadrink.org

Today is the first day of Lent! It's not too late to pick a favorite drink to give up for 40 days to help bring clean water to three villages in Rwanda. That's more than 2,000 people. And, there's still time to unlock the $25,000 match. Spread the word so we reach 1,000 participants! saveadrink.org

Partnering with Africa to end the HIV/AIDS and water crises
Introduction
Blood:Water is an equipping agency that partners with African grassroots organizations to address the HIV/AIDS and water crises. We do this by identifying Africa’s hidden heroes and coming alongside their vision for change. Through technical, financial and organizational support, we expand the reach and effectiveness of African civil society organizations and the communities they serve.
