Our partnerships are focused in areas of Africa where HIV/AIDS is most prevalent. Through local partners, Blood:Water provides clean water, and appropriate sanitation and hygiene training, effectively keeping people safe from waterborne illnesses that often lead to death for people with compromised immune systems.

Last week, our interns represented Blood:Water at the 615 Day block party, hosted by Project 615 and Lightning 100. The day started out with a bang (of bad weather), but once the storm passed, the crowd returned, excited to make a difference. Check out Chase Maqueda's recap of the day in this blog!

Providing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) training in schools has a significant positive impact not just on children's health, but on enrollment, absenteeism, and school performance as well.

WASH in schools also plays a major role in impacting communities because children act as agents of change in their homes when they share what they've learned with their families. But the change doesn't even stop there! When children learn healthy behaviors at a young age, they carry those practices with them into adulthood, influencing future generations too.
