"If your eye shall do wrong towards your brother, the needy, and you do not give to him; he will call out to the Lord and it will be regarded as sinful for you. You shall surely give to him; do not let your heart go wrong when you give to him; for as a result of your doing this the Lord your God will bless all that you do and all towards which you put your hand." (Deuteronomy 15)

The Lord promises blessing to those who bless the needy.

We praise God: "You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing." - Psalm 145

So He tells us: "Do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward the poor. You shall surely open your hand to provide for them whatever they need." - Deuteronomy 15

He opens His hand to us. We must open our hand to them.
