Disabled man with one leg brutalized by San Francisco police officers. They should be ashamed of themselves. A sad day for the city of San Francisco.

Senator Bernie Sanders from a 1997 interview, says that our campaign finance system is a "national disgrace", just as he does now.

Senator Bernie Sanders addresses the very serious problem of voter suppression in the United States. He also speaks about some legislation he has introduced in Congress that would automatically register a person to vote when they turned 18.

The struggle continues, but hopefully one day we will win.  This is a very interesting reading which I highly recommend taking the time to read.
In the years since Olmstead and the passage of the ADA, we as a country have engaged in the difficult and revolutionary work of real inclusion.

Since Senator Bernie Sanders has been quietly involved in civil rights matters concerning the African-American community for many years, lots of the criticism leveled against him for not understanding the issues that affects people of color has been unwarranted bullshit, in my opinion.
The senator from Vermont needs to reach out to African American voters for the first time in his political career.

The San Francisco police should be ashamed of themselves for mistreating this poor disabled man.

Follow-up pieces indicate that citizens and officials are investigating the issue. The police have asked for the full video, as has at least one politician. The cops say that the man was earlier reported displaying both delusional and suicidal behavior including running into traffic, and also report that he was not arrested, but transported to hospital. SF has not heard the last of this one, for once.

Senator Bernie Sanders calls for a massive change in the way elections are funded, because the wealthy class has taken control of the election process, making it corrupt. Senator Sanders also gives some very interesting and revealing statistics about the present day situation.

Senator Bernie Sanders calls for stricter gun control. As usual, he makes a lot of sense.

Senator Bernie Sanders talks about police misconduct, especially committed against people of color, and makes a few suggestions how to correct this problem. Senator Sanders also talks about the disproportionate number of African Americans who are incarcerated, often for minor nonviolent offenses. Senator Sanders also speaks out against the ugly police misconduct used against Sandra Bland, the woman in Texas who was mistreated by police for a minor traffic violation. Sandra Bland allegedly committed suicide in her jail cell a few days after her arrest.

Introduction
I was born in a small town in Pennsylvania, called Bear Lake, on December 22 1955.  I graduated from Corry Area High School in 1973.  I attended Edinboro State College from 1977-1979.

I relocated to Berkeley, California in 1980, so I could live independently, something that was nearly impossible, in Pennsylvania.  I graduated from Berkeley City College in 2006 with two Associate Degrees, one in English and the other in Liberal Arts.
