The most controversial thing I may have ever written: America, auto journalists, friends, Romans, countrymen—enough with the +Dodge #Hellcat #burnouthttp://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/news/a28526/america-we-get-it-the-hellcat-can-do-a-burnout/

I worked at the Petersen Automotive Museum for six months, helping plan over 25 new exhibits with over 150 vehicles. Here's what it was like. http://jalopnik.com/the-rebirth-of-americas-greatest-car-museum-and-what-i-1747635591 #petersenmuseum   #automotive   #museums   #losangeles
Ninety percent of the human population, give or take, already regards the automobile as an appliance. At best. The Petersen Automotive Museum, newly emerged from the most radical of transformations, is the 10 percent showing the 90 percent why it isn’t.

300cc bikes are in. Ridiculous 200hp bikes are in. Bikes are in, don't ya know.
http://autoweek.com/article/motorcycles/long-beachs-motorcycle-show
It's the year of the entry-level bike with attitude, as well as the genuine superbike. The Long Beach Motorcycle Show of last year, even two years ago, seemed to celebrate the exuberance of a motorcycle revival. It was in the atmosphere, this electric notion that motorcycles were back, baby!, ...

The world's most legendary Gulf Porsche 917K, now up for sale. Every single 917K is equally legendary, of course.
http://autoweek.com/article/car-life/your-chance-own-worlds-most-legendary-porsche-917k
Not all Porsche 917s were created equal. Now, 004/017 can be yours. It all started with a conversation. On March 21, 1969, the night before the 12 Hours of Sebring, Porsche racing director Rico Steinemann met with manager John Wyer. Steinemann was on a mission from God, or Porsche upper ...

Invading European territory at the Petrolicious Rally: it's VICE SQUAD '72, in a Pontiac Le Mans. http://jalopnik.com/we-crashed-a-rally-for-old-alfas-and-porsches-in-this-b-1715486409
When Petrolicious invited the auto elite to the Drive Tastefully: Barker Hangar Rally, they expected Magnus Walker 911s and Ferrari 250 Lussos — and they got ‘em. What they didn’t expect was the Vice Squad in our gleaming white piece of ‘70s Americana.

Aston Martin Music across the Mulholland hills. (Jalopnik, February 4, 2015)
http://jalopnik.com/i-drove-every-aston-martin-1683613093
A scream rang from across the canyons. A dull roar, really, dull only because I haven't yet punched it, sitting Right Here in an Aston Martin Vanquish, and I am in a devastating, crippling traffic jam that only the Malibu hills could provide: Ferrari 430, McLaren MP4-12C, Nissan GTR, Maserati GranTurismo convertible, a sibling Vantage Volante, and then the crème de la crème, today's MVP—an early Acura NSX, on stretched tires wrapping BBS wheels, ...

The Jaguar XJR-9 has fender skirts. Your Daytona-winning race car doesn't have fender skirts.
http://autoweek.com/article/auctions/jaguar-xjr-9-once-conquered-daytona-now-auction
On March 14, RM Auctions returns to the Ritz-Carlton at Amelia Island for its Concours d'Elegance auction. With an estimate over $3 million, this 1988 XJR-9 (with XJR-12 specification!) will be among 80 cars for sale. Some of the other cars may have fender skirts, but none will have won Daytona.

It's been 20 years since Steve Millen had the greatest season of his life, in the greatest race car ever made, based on the greatest car ever. Greatness.
http://autoweek.com/article/car-life/steve-millens-imsa-300zx-and-his-dream-season-1994
Millen looks back at winning Daytona, Sebring, and his class at Le Mans, 20 years later. It was on June 27th, 1993 at Watkins Glen where Steve Millen, having already won the previous year's overall championship, found himself again in the IMSA GTS Nissan 300ZX -- leading the IMSA GTS points ...
