The best just got even better with PhytoMAX-2!

We’ve kept all the best parts of the PhytoMAX series of lights- the complete, full spectrum from UV to IR, spread evenly over the entire footprint in order to grow all of your plants, not just ones directly under the light. The patent-pending cooling system and fixture design are the same, as well as the safety and reliability.

In creating the PhytoMAX-2 we started by using even-quieter fans that keep the LEDs running at peak efficiency while maximizing longevity. We upgraded all of the LEDs to the brightest, highest-efficiency top-bin LEDs sourced from the best manufacturers in the world for each particular color, including Cree, Osram and many others. Utilizing a durable and cleanable glass primary lens on the LEDs themselves, we were able to eliminate the protective glass layer under our LEDs, allowing 100% of each LED’s light to reach your plants. We increased the levels of yellow and green light just enough to make our proprietary Phyto-Genesis Spectrum appear white to the human eye. This change made the use of color-correcting glasses unnecessary, when working under the PhytoMAX-2 lights. All of this was accomplished without compromising our growth-maximizing, plant-optimized spectrum. Last but not least, the lights are now made in the USA!

These changes combine to allow PhytoMAX-2 LED grow lights to deliver 60% more light per watt, providing unprecedented PAR levels, footprint coverage and yields!

Its finally time to harvest these ladies! A bit of a shame really, we loved seeing each of these plants flourish under the PhytoMAX 200 but all good things must come to an end. As you can see each plant is a classic example of the wild range of diversity within cannabis as well as nature itself. All three strains display their own characteristics, yet each grows to its maximum potential under the full spectrum provided by PhytoMAX. The final weights for this grow were Super Lemon Haze with 44 grams, Sour Diesel pulled 68 grams and Blue Dream with 55 grams for a total of 167 grams for 9 plants. Stay tuned for our next grow!

Not much change from last update. All three strains are continuing to progress through the final weeks of the flower cycle. The signs of proper flushing on the middle and right plants are evident as the leaves begin to turn yellowish in color. The trichome production has steadily increased even further as every leaf is covered even more in beautiful frostiness. Stay tuned for the final update when we show the take down and harvest, as well as reveal the final weights of all three plants!

It’s the start of Week 8 and the all the plants are looking luxuriously delicious as they continue to bulk up further in weight. On the left we see two images of the same group, one filtered by Method 7 grow glasses and the other unfiltered. On the right we see a closeup of the foremost Super Lemon Haze plant, bursting outward with colorful orange pistils and frost-covered calyxes. These three diverse strains going together in harmony in such a compact space exemplifies the quality of the Phyto-Genesis Spectrum®. With no need for the power and space-consuming cooling systems that HPS lights require, the PhytoMAX® is able to grow plants more efficiently, produce larger yields, and achieve better overall quality buds every time, every grow. These photos only do so much to give you a small glimpse of the power of PhytoMAX®. Contact Black Dog LED today to see how we can help you grow your buds to the best they can be.

The Super Lemon Haze plants are definitely finishing faster than the Sour Diesel and Blue Dream. These photos were taken right after we watered. The 2 rows on the left are still getting full nutes but the 3 Super Lemon Hazes on the right are ready to be flushed. This is the fastest strain we have ever grown. They are more than ready to flush at 6 weeks! Those extra 2 weeks could mean lots of extra time and money for commercial growers.

In this side-by-side Cannabis grow we compare the Black Dog LED PhytoMAX 800 against the Kind K5-XL1000 in a 5X5 tent with 5 Blue Dream clones in each tent. This is part 10 and the final video of this series.

In our last video we share the final yields of this side-by-side comparison. Throughout this series we showed hot spots and lack of coverage by this Kind light. Now we finally compare the weights. As you can see Kind lights don’t meet the claims the company puts out. They do not cover a 5X5 area and they do not replace a 1000 watt HPS. Black Dog LED on the other hand stands true behind their claims, flowering this whole tent with a true replacement for a traditional 1000 watt HPS.

These lights were selected because each manufacturer claims the light to be a replacement for a traditional 1000 watt HPS, and they both claim to flower a 5X5 area.

We hope you enjoyed this series and stay tuned for our next one! Be sure to subscribe to our channel so you get notification of videos as they are published.

Why is there a purple glow to our lights? As you can see most of our photos for this run have been spilt. One is a filtered white light photo (taken with a Method Seven filter) and one is a purple photo (taken with no filter). Well when our lights are on, they have a “purple glow”. This is due to our spectrum being what plants actually prefer to grow under, including more blue and red wavelengths, UV, and IR. We use Method Seven grow glasses that are designed to change the spectrum to white light so it is easier for the human eye to work under our lights. Remember plants don't care about lumens; only humans do. (And we care about growing plants, not humans!)
