The Cap Pasado container ship should be coming in to port at the end of this week, with some desperately needed fleece from New Zealand (by way of Hawaii). All of our batt staples should be back in stock by early September. Woo hoo!

July 8th was the 125th anniversary of St. John, Newfoundland's Great Fire that decimated the Canadian city. More than 12,000 residents were left homeless by the fire and ended up living in Bannerman Park. "After the fire, the School of Industry was set up in Bannerman to help teach women weaving, knitting and spinning skills — crucial for families left homeless and destitute," a CBC News story explains. On Saturday, "the school was recreated with weaving and spinning demonstrations at St. John's City Hall" in remembrance. See, the fibre community always has been and remains the best!

We had a great group go through our last "Felted Vessel" class a couple weeks ago, and I've been remiss on celebrating their success. I really had to share their work though, because they did really picked up resist felting like pros!

Batts all weighed out and ready to run during the Berryfest Saturday! The Old Lady is going to need a good cleaning after after running all these batts for insulating a house on Vancouver island, so I can switch back to the whites and greys.

June 16th was our "soft" opening in Abbotsford, and Karyn was always reluctant to celebrate our store anniversary on that date. Why? - It was also her birthday!
We can celebrate both.
Happy Birthday, Karyn. We miss you.
