For those willing to brave the rain, we are open today. We will, however, be closed on Monday for the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday.

Nice little story about Virginian weaver Dianne Nordt, who raised merino sheep and runs a small studio from her home to turn the wool in to lovely blankets.

I've posted about Sue and Mary Haggerty before as they regularly knit figures to decorate their north London yard. This time their theme was the Rio Olympics, with UK athletes taking center stage in woolly form.

...and we brought in white Coopworth as well, since it also takes dye extremely well! We have both the natural grey and white Coopworth slivers available in 100g, 1lb (454g), and 5 lb (2.27kg) weights online and in-store.

Another fibre we finally have back in stock is this lovely natural grey Coopworth sliver. Coopworth is a young longwool breed from New Zealand created by interbreeding Border Leicester and Romney sheep. It's not a fine fibre, but is soft with a nice lustre and has a long staple length length which makes it a dream to spin.

Another story about the WARM project from Australia, where knitters are coming together to bring attention to climate change with a large-scale fibre art installation which will be on display in September.

Also fresh off the ship from New Zealand: a beautiful white merino top. It's conveniently in 10-11 lb bumps, so I thought why not save ourselves some unpacking/weighing and offer a special? Order by phone or in-shop and we'll sell you a bump at the rate of $30.95/lb. Whole bumps only please... we're trying to save ourselves the effort of measuring off lengths!
