Join us for a night of networking and discussion in healthcare and technology hosted by Socal Young Healthcare Professionals, Biospark Innovation, and HiHub.

Innovation in health technology often involves a hand off from researchers to industry. The spirit of this mixer is to connect research and industry individuals to share their experiences and hack away at the next great heath technologies. All with an interest in health technology are welcome. Let’s drink to the researchers working away at new and innovative ideas, and the industrialists that continue those technologies into the market in efforts to improve the quality of healthcare and medicine.

Join us for a night of speed networking and speed mentoring with a panel of experts in healthcare and technology, hosted by BioSpark Innovation, SoCal Young Healthcare Professionals, Girls in Tech, and Society of Physician Entrepreneurs.   We will host a panel of experts ranging from Medical, Technology, Entrepreneurial, and Regulatory backgrounds to participate in the networking and share their knowledge.  Get there before 8pm for happy hour and network away 5 minutes at a time with peers working in healthcare and technology.

Meet our mentor panel:

Scott Kaiser – Medical
Scott is a physician with extensive experience and expertise in geriatrics. He holds his MD from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, and is currently a research fellow with the UCLA/VA Primary Care & Health Services. Scott is the creator and producer of “On The Move,” a docu-reality series following the lives of older adults taking strides toward health. See more at

Michael Pan – Entrepreneur
Mike is the founder and CEO of Nephosity. Nephosity builds the platform for collaborative medical imaging, enabling anywhere, anytime viewing, sharing, and collaboration of patient cases involving medical imaging. Mike has degrees from UCLA and University of Pennsylvania. His prior experience includes leading the workflow computing group at the Laboratory for NeuroImaging (formerly also the NIH Center of Computational Biology), and working at JPL, HP Labs, and Dreamworks on other distributed and web scale computing projects.

Diana Gesshel – Regulatory
Diana has extensive experience in managed care industries with health plans and large medical centers. She holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a JD from Loyola Law School, and she is an expert in healthcare regulatory compliance and business systems. Her particular expertise includes easy-to-use applications that encourage greater regulatory compliance by staff, and that allow for superior data collection.

Andrew Akagawa – Technical
Andrew works as manufacturing and new product introduction engineer for Advanced Bionics, a manufacturer of cochlear implants. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S in Manufacturing and Design from UCLA. Andrew is an expert in manufacturing processes and strategies, with knowledge ranging from bootstrap prototyping to larger scale production.
