The Biomimicry Global Design Challenge on Food Systems invites students and independent professionals to address critical sustainability issues using nature as a guide.

We believe that, by applying nature’s design principles, we can create solutions that help support a healthy planet. The Institute’s goal is to build an artery of sustainable innovation inspired by nature and to help bring more biomimetic solutions to market.

Teams are provided with a Toolbox on Nature's Unifying Principles, a series of educational webinars as well as mentorship to help them through the design process. In partnership with the Ray C. Anderson Foundation, participants compete for a $100,000 prize that will help make their designs a reality.
