Is making it difficult for me to unsubscribe from something at all beneficial to you? No, yet so many marketers make it into some kind of treasure hunt. If someone doesn't want to receive any more emails from you (problem #1) then making it harder to not get them only exacerbates the issue, further distancing you from having a relationship with someone who at one point wanted to have one by giving you their email address.

You know those ads that show on the right side of your Facebook page? Most of them don't appeal to me but occasionally something catches my eye and I click on it. Kudos to Amazon! When they advertise something on Facebook, when I click on the item, guess what? It brings me to the item they advertised!
