I was amazed by the amount of lightning last night. Before going to sleep I went out on my balcony and took a number of photos. I've never captured lightning in a photo before.

Here's an overview of the projects and activities that I worked on and partook in over the past week. Two of the photos in the collage included in this post are from the two cycling adventures that I recently went on and one photo is of the art exhibition that I was part of on Saturday.
Official Post from Billy Wilson: This week was quite eventful, I went on two long cycling adventure rides and I participated in the Sustain Algoma Expo as part of my job where I worked at a table and had my photography featured at the expo's art exhibition along with the historical maps and photos that I had curated from the Sault

Yesterday I went out for a 16.5 hour long cycling adventure way up into the forest up Mile 38 Road to Quintet Creek. It was a great time, although it took quite a bit out of me. I happened to come across a ruffed grouse which I was able to get a picture of and I explored a long series of cascades on Quintet Creek. The road was in decent condition although according to a sign it is no longer maintained beyond the McDonald Creek Road turnoff.

I'm happy that my photography got to be featured in yet another book. The book is composed of a number of stories c. 1970's and 1980's set in the financial district of Toronto as told by Tony Van Straubenzee. Tony worked in human resources and eventually specialized in executive-level headhunting. Five images of mine are featured in the book. They are from my Toronto Project from back in 2011 when I took a trip to Toronto.

I was happy to have my photography featured at Sustain Algoma Expo's art exhibition yesterday! The theme was the St. Marys River so I shared some of my favourite photos that I've taken of the river.

Yesterday I decided to go out for another cycling adventure, this time to Maud Creek. It was a fun time despite the many deer flies. It seems as though no matter how much insect repellent I spray on myself repeatedly, they keep biting me. I've been using Deep Woods Off. Has anyone else ever tried something different with better success?

I know deet (off) is good for mosquitos, but IDK what's good for flies

Yesterday I went on another cycling adventure, this time to the Carp River which flows into Batchawana Bay on its north side. I explored the waterfalls below the confluence of the East Branch of the Carp River and I also explored upstream on the main Carp River and visited a small cascade. It was an enjoyable day despite getting my arms covered in mosquito bites.

Since it included the Canada Day weekend, I took advantage of the extra day that I had off from my new job and I went on two cycling adventures, three photos from which can be seen in the collage included in this post. Yesterday I went on another cycling adventure, this time to Sheppard Creek. It was a bit off the beaten path and I had never visited it before so I was excited to explore it. I also stopped by the waterfalls on Robertson Creek on the way back. I happened to get another photo of a ruffed grouse which can be seen in the images.
