It seems lots of people started following me recently. Like someone opened the side door of the building. I suspect the recent Houston circle that went around. Since I've been absent from this space for months, I thought I'd add …

Strawberries have been cheep recently, so I made jam. http://blog.shirl.com/2012/06/22/jam-1-strawberry/

In an email blast sent out Monday, Harris County Republican Party Chairman Jared Woodfill asks recipients to call or email the mayor “and tell her to support the Constitution and stand up for traditional marriage.”

Really? You're the party chairman and you think the Constitution supports "traditional marriage"? It doesn't, which is why you passed DOMA (that just got tapped as unconstitutional), and why you're always proposing a Hetero Marriage Constitutional Amendment.

Moron.

What is says: "Of all the apps in the App Store, this is one that every iPhone owner should download."

What it should say: "... this is the one that every iPhone owner should have their friends with iPhones download." but of course, there's not even a reason to do that until you've lost it in the first place.

When I heard the piece on NPR claim "The premise of Twitter is ..." i instantly though ACCORDING to who?! They only slightly stepped back from that statement at one point in the piece.

As I lay in bed, I felt the need to deconstruct the piece, but didn't. (That takes time your know. Glad someone else did (see the link). But at the end of the NPR piece (if you listen to it) they claimed a certain geographic commonality of Twitter in general (which i don't doubt). But led me to another question and something that i think would be an interesting follow up: who are the outliers? those who don't follow the pattern?

It would be interesting to study that, and where they might fall in comparison to Barabasi's Linked.

The Clown Commandos showed up in Brick Journal - i wasn't aware there was a magazine for lego enthusiasts, but i'm not surprised. http://www.clowncommandos.com/clownblog/?p=968

Also, I found some old newspaper articles about my Great Grandfather being stabbed to death</a> on the streets of Dallas in 1923. http://blog.shirl.com/2012/01/19/stanley-cady-lebel-dead-man/

Did I bury the lede?

I coded this app, but the guys at Big Red Boot keep the art coming for it - if you like comics and/or clowns you should have this iPhone App.

I don't suppose GooP could make hangouts work on iPhone by Saturday …

If you haven't seen this new artcar web site, ArtCar Nation has some interesting content. If you want to read some verbosity, the current feature is my review of the recent Art Car: The Movie. http://artcarnation.com/
