I don't get lost. I just take a lot of scenic routes.

My backyard at 6:30 this morning. It's April 19th and still snowing. I wish snow were green. That may be the only way the trees will be green this year. Six months of winter and seven isn't too far away. Iβ™₯NY???

A heavy overcast Sunday is a good day for a nap.

"It will be nice in New York," you said.
"Plenty of green grass up North," you said.
"I'm telling you, Harriet, you need a weather app more than that GPS you use to drag me to the middle of nowhere."

Hello!
I'm pleased to join a group that is committed to our feathered friends which bring so much enjoyment to our "backyards"!
I'm a retired teacher who enjoys driving around my area in the Finger Lakes Region of New York, photographing anything to do with the beautiful nature which surrounds me. Having survived a cardio bypass arterial grafting (fancy medical lingo for open heart surgery...and called "Cabbage" by the medical staff!) a year and a half ago, I don't get around as much as I had planned in my retirement, but it is amazing how much there is to appreciate just a few miles from home!
This is one of my favorite shots of a Cedar Waxwing in our Japanese cherry tree in the front yard. They show up every year when the cherries are ripe and clean them out. The cherries are inedible for us humans, but the Waxwings just love them and stay until the trees are out of fruit. They're one of my favorite visitors! #BackyardBirding
