Now that google has moved to its "Add-ons" architecture, it looks like (sadly) some features of managing scripts inside one's account have gotten more complicated. Too complicated for my current interests. I found a not-so-satisfying add-on that has text to columns functionality, but I've concluded that using the split() function is the fastest path to converting text to columns.

35 million + images are now available for bloggers to embed. My blog post describes the excitement. The comment summarizing @jbenton's analysis describes reasons for caution.
Getty Images makes much of its photo portfolio free to use. I'm excited. Here's why you should be excited too.

When I want new ideas on managing my business, I turn to Robert Sutton.  You can too. Join a Guy Kawasaki-moderated G+ hangout with Bob Sutton as they talk about Scaling a business. TODAY, 10 Feb at 10am Pacific.

Join +Peg Fitzpatrick and I as we interview my friend Robert Sutton.

Read about Scaling Up here: http://blog.apethebook.com/2014/02/author-interview-with-robert-sutton-scaling-up-excellence/

Robert Sutton is a Stanford Professor, organizational researcher, and best-selling author. His seven management books include New York Times bestsellers "The No A**hole Rule" and "Good Boss, Bad Boss." His latest book (with Stanford's Huggy Rao) is "Scaling Up Excellence." It is the first major management book on tackling this crucial and universal challenge, and is the product of a seven-year effort by Rao and Sutton. To learn more about the book, read new posts and articles on scaling, and to contribute your own story or ask Rao and Sutton questions, please visit www.scalingupexcellence.com.

Sutton was named as one of 10 "B-School All-Stars" by BusinessWeek, described as "professors who are influencing contemporary business thinking far beyond academia." Sutton is an IDEO Fellow and co-founder of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program, Center for Work, Technology and Organization, and Stanford Design Institute (the "d.school"). He has written over 100 academic and popular articles and chapters, and over 1000 blog posts. He often leads workshops and gives speeches about his books and is academic director of several Stanford executive programs including Leading for Strategic Execution and (with Huggy Rao) Customer-focused Innovation. Sutton blogs at www.bobsutton.net and tweets @work_matters.

A must watch for entrepreneurs, start-ups, managers, or anyone who'd like to scale up.
This Hangout On Air is hosted by Guy Kawasaki. The live video broadcast will begin soon.

A simple blog comment changed my views about how to win at content marketing. Learn how to help customers and outsmart competitors--without outspending them.

Today I read a claim that was presented a fact. And it was wildly wrong. The readers of the blog post didn't call the author (a guest blogger) on the shoddy facts.

I got so grumpy that I wrote my own post today. "How to avoid defocusing sales process myths like 'Marketing Leads Suck' and 'The Rule of 45'" http://bit.ly/1eXJND5

The upshot for this group: getting contributed content to match your standards is sometimes tough. During the editing process, call them on facts and help the author raise the discourse.

Can you have an article concerned with the field of content strategy if the word "content" isn't used once in the article? I think not.

Very suspenseful. Now I want to see the full length version. Hoping no animals or actors took a bullet so you could get a degree ;-)

I published my list of "23 Varieties of Successful Web Conversion Offers."  I think it's exhaustive. Do you?

Moving a WordPress site to a responsive design is easier than I thought it would be.
