I've been playing, and enjoying, Hawken. Giant robots blowing each other up. The monetization options aren't bad as they seem to mostly affect your mech aesthetics, as you can grind (and grind, and grind) to level up and unlock better weapons. I dig that game, but I will say this: PC multiplayer gamers are worse, IMO, than Xbox Live gamers. The elitism is off the charts and very discouraging. Plus, it's not an MMO, which is kind of what I'm in the mood for ATM.
Fallen Earth I've only played a tiny bit of, seems kind of dated, but maybe cool. I don't know yet.
Firefall is really cool. Very futuristic, great graphics and downscales pretty well if your machine can't handle it. Monetization elements, so far, don't seem intrusive. I've played this game when it was in closed beta and liked it, forgot about it, and came back to it. Right now, this one will get more attention from me.
