Grantland features some great sports writing.
I try to visit the site once a week and share the stories I particularly enjoyed reading.

This one is described as an essay on gambling, but it is wrapped around the author's family tree and the history of the town of Hot Springs.

It is essay length, but I was glad to have taken the time to read it and look forward to more from Mr. Hill.
In the first of a series of personal essays about gambling, David Hill looks back at a racetrack, a murder and the history of organized crime in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
